I haven't been to any of the local dog parks in quite some time and it was good to read that the city is expanding the range of options for local dog owners. My ex wife and I used to go to Reid every day when it first opened, but stopped after a slow influx of overly aggressive fighting breeds (Pit Bulls, Cane Corsos, Presa Canarios, etc) and their thuggish/ignorant owners really ruined the place.
I've heard that there are other places in town that are more hospitable, but I'm much more fond of the Rillito River Park.
Letting dogs off-leash to socialize with other dogs/people in a park-type setting is definitely better than walking them around the block , but I've found that taking them somewhere they can indulge their inner puppy by chasing lizards and birds and such is as close to Dog Heaven as it gets here in our little corner of the world.
