"the desert roses are more than just "back up" dancers as they are often referred to as....many peole under estimate their job in its' entirety i think. Desert Roses must know as many positions as possible in as many choreographies as possible.....I consider them to be the framework for the whole "picture" on stage, as without them, it would be a stage of soloists doing group choreographies in similar, but still individualized, costumes. I think the marriage of the frame work and the soloists is a brilliant mixture that works extremely well and compliments each other on stage. Jillina does an amazing job at blending those aspects.
I also feel that the "roses" are very well equiped for their jobs. Often times, the most versatile dancers on tour, they have to pick up choreographies of other styles quickly and be able to perform it nearly flawless! The Latin number for example....contains 4 different styles of Latin dancing in it: Flamenco, Cha Cha, Samba, and Rhumba all of which have different feels and the expectations are high for the roses who are in every part of that choreography! :) I love the Roses and i think they're a vital part of BDSS and i am very proud of them! They work extremely hard! :)" - Petite Jamilla
