<div>Someone on the Indigo tribe had asked about poster design, and I thought... wouldn't it be awesome if there was a tribe for that? And here it is! <br/> <br/>I'm Bo, a tribal fusion dance/student of a year and a half, also a graphic designer. I'm trying to get out of the field, because I enjoy doing it, but not as a career (if that makes any sense). I'm always up for answering questions, giving help, or trading for design work. <div>So, who here has a degree in graphic design? If you do, where did you get it and how do you feel the courses helped you? <br/> <br/>I've got a B.S. in Journalism, but focused my classes on editing and design (to the limited extent that design was offered). I now work mostly in the design side, and I'm considering getting another degree so I can study more graphic design. There are no schools in my state, though, so I'd either have to do some online classes or move. I am currently learning the Adobe CS3 progams (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop now, Dreamweaver in the spring) and have just purchased the CS3 Premium set with my handy-dandy student discount. <br/> <br/>I am also going to be learning the basics of (and installing on my new computer) Final Cut Pro in the spring. <br/> <br/>I am going to be working for a photographer and doing design work as well as client relations &amp; basic bookkeeping.... so there will be a lot of high-res images and big fancy files on my computer. I also hope to slowing start doing other freelance graphic design projects. <br/> <br/>So... I need to choose a computer that will be able to handle all of the above. What should I get? I definitely want to get a laptop and I'm debating between the white or black 2.16 GHz MacBook &amp; the 15" MacBook Pro. <br/> <br/>This will be going on my credit card. But of course I want to pay it off as soon as possible and I'm going to be poorer than I am now in the near future due to the job change (but happier!).
