Nail Biting til Next Week

Holy crap! what an amazing episode tonight. I was on the edge of my seat throughout. It was no surprise about Lila and her manipulative ways. It was too convenient for "Mommy Murderer" to have shown up at the bowling alley...and then Lila in Rita's house. Creepy. But not as anxiety producing as Doakes finding Dex's secret blood slide stash.

What are your predictions? Obviously Doakes will run some tests on the slide evidence he's uncovered...and he will most certainly add it all up. But what will he do once his suspicions are confirmed? Try to bring Dex in and be the hero with a hefty promotion? Or will it be more sinister as using Dex as a puppet for some type of blackmail? And will he even get that far before Dex silences him and sends Doakes and Dex's dark secret to a watery grave?

I absolutely cannot wait to see what happens next week!

Yes, this was indeed a nail biting episode! Lila turned out to be creepy and scary. Wonder if she is out of the picture entirely or will pop up, causing more trouble. She's so damn edgy that she might dare to try something. What do any of you think?

Geesh, he still has the guy in the cabin to wrap up, right? And Doakes creepin' around - when he started taking off the front of the air conditioner I about fell off the sofa! And will they be able to trace Dex to the car that was checked out of the lot? Ohmagosh. I feel that Doakes will be holding that stash of blood stains over Dex's head - he really wants to get even. Wonder if Dexter will end up cutting Doakes up. I notice that they no longer show previews of what's coming up next week - ah, the suspense!!!

      OR!

Another take could be that when Dex comes home, perhaps from finishing up Mr. Jimenez, he notices the slides are gone, is somehow able to extrapolate that it was Doakes who took them, and is able to pin the Bay Harbor Butcher rap on him before Doakes has a chance to nail Dex with the evidence.. So far Lundy & co. have narrowed it down to the Miami PD so they'll be looking at loose cannons. Doakes certainly displayed that quality when he was in for questioning.

I'm wondering now, though, whether Dex has ever used gloves when he's putting new slides in the box? If not, then his fingerprints will be all over the slides and this theory of mine wouldn't stand up. Hmm. Nailbiting indeed!!

I'm totally down with Doakes getting framed as the killer now that he has possession of the slides. He's fucked.

We definitely havent seen the last of Lila. Hell hath no fury...

Wasnt that dinner exchange between Lundy and sis just great? I thought outloud to my girl how odd it was though that she broached relationship terms to him even before dinner. And even more odd that he didnt object to the "...if we're going to be together" aspect.

FYI they show the promos for next week's Dexter during the closing credits of Brotherhood.

Thanks for the info, gangster, I never watch Brotherhood so I've been missing all the previews.

Yes, that was an interesting conversation between Lundy and Deb - I was suprised when she said if they were going to be together. Nice kiss!

Maggie! You put a slant on things regarding Doakes that I hadn't thought of - wow! That would be great if Doakes got framed! Yes, I hope Dex used gloves!

I just love the theme music for this series. It goes with everything perfectly.

    Here's my prediction:

Doakes puts it together quickly, but doesn't take the slides with him and instead leaves them as they are and tries to figure out how to get a search warrant (which will prove more difficult than he'd like for legal reasons (I'm a lawyer, it's hard, and he can't just say "I saw the evidence", since although suspended, he's still a cop and can't violate Dex's constitutional right against illegal searches and seizures) and because everyone thinks Doakes is going crazy on a witch hunt).

Meanwhile, the body of Jimenez or whatever his name is is discovered "mid butchering". Lila is the only one who knows his connection to Dexter, and so she now knows, too.

Lila has a penchant for arson. She's upset at and afraid of Dexter at the same time - just like her ex. So, she goes to burn down his building and kill him. Only he survives. But his slide tray doesn't, and thus the only evidence linking him is gone.

Lila has, however, also killed other people in the building. So, Dexter now has a serial killer on his hands in the form of his ex, so he now has a reason to kill her.

Doakes and Dex obviously have to have some sort of showdown. My guess is Doakes tries to kill Dexter and Dexter successfully defends himself. After Doakes' previous assault on Dexter and Doakes' rep for being trigger happy, Dex is exonnerated.

That's as far as I'm guessing - but it'll sure make for interesting tv no matter what happens.

One of the best shows on tv in ages. Gotta love it.

The writing is on the wall..

Doakes already stated his father was a BUTCHER... i'm sorry... it's obivious... but it's true.. this will come up and Doakes will get fingered..

But I think Lundy already has Dexter in his lists.

Dexter's sister is a magnet for serial killers.. it seems. I believe this will somehow have something to do with the conclusion.
