Anyone reading the book?

I got the first season's book: Darkly Dreaming Dexter. Even after watching season one, and again on network tv, the book is also very good!

I must by these books and read them before the show starts up again. I can't wait to see what happens this time around!

I have only gotten to see season 1 because I don't have Showtime, but I just finished book 3, Dexter in the Dark. I find them to ber VERY compelling. In fact, I stayed up WAY too late the other night because I couldn't put it down. Book 3 goes in a very interesting direction that I didn't expect at all, which kind of changes the way you think abotu the storyline in general.

I own the first two and will buy 3 when it comes out in paperback (I checked it out from the library).

Oh, and the show departs from the books in some key areas.

You guys have mentioned not wanting to read the books because they'll ruin the show for you. I would read them anyway; they are different, definitely. And there are outcomes for some characters that you might find gratifying, that take a huge departure from the storyline of the show.

              agreed, especially the 2nd book.

Have you read book 3? It takes a really interesting direction...

I checked it out from the library because it's still in hardcover.

In large print, oddly. Because the seniors have such love for serial killers with hearts of gold?

that's a strange irony since they also love babies, which i learned when visiting my grandma in her assisted living facility when my daughter was 3 months old. the seniors were swarming to her like skeksies (from the dark crystal) to the pod people. maybe because they are so close to completing the circle of life themselves?

Hahaha! Lola, that made me laugh so hard I almost peed! (Sorry) The reason being that I LOVE "The Dark Crystal". When my Mom and Grandmother used to walk behind each other REALLY slow I used to think of the UrRu trekking slowly . . . ever so slowly . . .

                          awesome!

seriously the only thing that got me through that trip without being completely spooked was the image of the pod person strapped into the chair and shriveling up as the skeksies sucked out his essence in order to stay alive.

it might be time to re-watch :)
