So...what did you all think? I was pleased to see that many of our predictions came to pass, but then again...is that agood thing? That means the show was somewhat predictable. As I thought, everything was wrapped up nicely with a big bloody bow. Sorry about Doakes, but he had to go. Good riddance to Lila. Next year, I think someone talked about LaGuerta being Dex's new nemesis...certainly possible.
All in all it was a satisfying season.

Re: Season 2 Finale
Mon, December 17, 2007 - 8:38 AMOverall, I really enjoyed it. It did all come together a little too neatly at the very end, but if anything happens to Dexter, the show is over, so... this show is amazing in the way it gets you to root for the bad guy.
Michael C Hall is AMAZING! That scene with Lila in the aquarium... wow, he was so intense... these past few episodes, he has done a fabulous job of showing us the monster. If I were Lila, I might be afraid that he is going to kill me, but I would still go willingly. :)
Crazy. -

Re: Season 2 Finale
Mon, December 17, 2007 - 3:30 PMWell, in the end he is hinting of new things to come, so I am sure next season is going to be interesting.
Michael C. Hall is such a sexy beast! In "Six Feet Under" he was heavier and did not appeal to me as much, but as Dexter, all lean and sexy looking, well, he looks much younger without the weight and definitely peaks my imagination. Sigh . . . Can't wait until next season! -

Re: Season 2 Finale
Mon, December 17, 2007 - 5:41 PMThis seasons finale was unintentionally FUNNAY!!! From Doakes famous last words "Muthafuckah"... to Rita's dumb happy ass kids to the baby sitter and Rita saying "it's okay.. it's over" to Dexter after his ex girlfriend kidnapped and tried to fry em up in her apartment. Didn't the kids think they were in danger when they entered the apartment and saw it was basically a shrine to Dexter filled with creepy photos???!
Debra also was funny... she actually thought MUCh older Lundy was banging her for something OTHER than the fact she's hot, smart and younger tail...and was actually going to continue his affair with her after the case was wrapped? He even WARNED her... but he neatly kept her on the line juuuust enough to continue to get laid until the next case promptly came in...He knew it would happen so almost instantaneously after the BHB case was shut.
I thought the scene with LaGeurta(bad spelling?) and Debra was the Best scene...as she tackily passed out memorial pages and asked for money for his funeral. Funny thing is that we didn't hear anything from Doakes family this season. They were pictured in season one when Doakes took Debra to meet his family for dinner.
Lila was cute this episode...she reminds me of Brenda from Six Feet Under but 1000 degrees more psychotic. I was sad to see her go and would rather have had Dexter and lila paired than Rita who bores me. I'm a little sad to see Doakes go. -

Re: Season 2 Finale
Mon, December 17, 2007 - 5:42 PMOh and about the Code. Does Dexter realize that if Doakes would have lived and took the wrap... he WOULD be put to death. If Florida still has the death penalty... im sure it does... it would equal murder by hand. -

Re: Season 2 Finale
Tue, December 18, 2007 - 4:27 AMI have to agree that Rita bores me to tears, but Dex needs a "normal" and accepted cover for his romantic interest, and Rita certainly fits the bill. I wonder if the writers will take more things from the books. As I said, before, this season was a huge departure from Book two (except for the Lundy character and a glimpse into Doakes' past) whereas season one was almost word for word from the first book. One of the things explored in book 2 was the fact that Dex recognized the "monster" in Cody and was going to take him under his wing...train him in the code, etc. That would be a nice twist for the upcoming season.
