So I started a hybrid version of Dan's and DiPasquale's diet. I'll be honest in saying that I've never really seriously started bodybuilding until 2 weeks ago. In 2 weeks I've gone from %18 bodyfat to depending on the day 13.5% to 14% depending on the day. I've also added about 5 lbs to my lifts.

Hear's the problem though. I bike a total of 8mi a day to work (saves gas). so I kill my carbs. The other problem is my body doesn't switch over to full ketosis as fast as I'd like (groggy and fogginess no longer bother me). I think the problem is that I don't switch over fast enough because I don't have enough Muscle mass to burn all the glycogen. BTW you learn real fast that this diet was only meant for professional BB. But i've tweaked it to work for me.

I was wondering If any one has tried Dhea to stave off cortisol before. I wan't to use it to extend the ketosis phase so my body attacks just the fat not the muscle. As a anabolic its BS. But some studies suggest Dhea can lower cortisol levels. I'm just worried about a rubberband effect.

Anyone ever try Dhea or 7-keto Dhea for this or other means?

I hear quite a few things going on. first off, if you don't have much muscle mass, going on a bodybuilding diet will merely get you skinny- the goal of a bodybuilder is to have a lot of muscle, and have a very low bodyfat.

18% bodyfat is not all that unhealthy, and if you are trying to gain muscle, its a good range to be in. also its very difficult to gain much muscle when you are in ketosis, let alone have the strength to lift heavy weights.

I just started taking a little bit of dhea, and it makes my face breakout, but i doubt its going to help me in any of my lifts, but the bottle was 8 bucks, so I thought i would try some.

8 miles a day on your bike is probably a good thing, but when you are in the gym, simply don't touch the treadmill or anything "cardio'

spend all of your time with the bar.

when i say bar, I am talking about the bar that is not connected to a smith machine.

doing deadlifts, squats, standing military press. front squats,

i have used Dhea and while i cannot pinpoint the effects it had i did find my body got more lean and defined. One has to be careful not to take more than 25 mg/day or else it will cause acne i'm told. For some that's even too much.
