Since there are a few of us or more that really need to financially plan this out (hence the 18 month notice) so I would like to see if we could come up with a list of planning duties and break it out to individuals? I know that there are alot of variables involved and we are all generally pretty busy in our jobs (or should be and YOU know who I am talking to) but I have kinda started on working on Euorpean contacts to see if we can get good info and possible logistical assistance from across the pond. Why dont we have a meeting sometime in the near future, since Blazing Sun has said his place is cool I would like to take him up on that. We can sit down, talk about what really will need to happen to get us there and who can do what to facilitate this.. maybe a potluck dinner and a meeting?? Whadda ya'll thank of it????

    i'm glad to hear that it looks like many of us are thinking about going. Can you imagine how much fun this would be. Perhaps a planning session next Saturday or SUnday the 26th or 27th of Janurary? anytime after this weekend is fine with me.

        Can we shoot for say Feb 2nd (Saturday) in the afternoon about 2 or 3? We can have the meeting then do a dinner together, either home cooked or resturant.. as long as I have you guys the meal will be great either way!

          Honestly, I can wait until after Flipside to have a face to face meeting on this. We cannot even buy an airline ticket for this trip until August 2008.

          This does not mean I am not enthusiastic about it. I am. A great deal.

          It does mean I have Defrost, Interfuse, Flipside, Burning Man (and an art project), Chinati Open House, Santa Rampage, maybe a spring Myschevia, Interfuse, Flipside or LIB ...all occuring BEFORE NoWhere 2009. I know this takes some more planning than those other events. Still no businesses are going to work with you on reservations, just yet.

          Just a thought.

            Feb 2nd is the Mystiqal Parade. Several will be busy with that. Maybe February 9th? I think the best ting right now is that we have a tribe going. And we probably need to get a timeline written down with deadlines for everyone ....

            And yeah - god idea to maybe have a couple people in charge of doing research for the different travel aspects ...

            But like wayward says, most air companies don't even have their schedules open yet for next summer

              Im down for when ever. I will say that when search for accommodations, I have found that we need to book places to stay no later than august which is the end of the club season. Just about everything is already booked for this year for the time period that we want to go next year. Especially with the size of our group.
              I listed a bunch of links for accommodations for Barcalona and Ibiza under the Hot Damn! post.

            I am in agreement with you on this Wayward :) I am VERY excited and totally down to go but have other travels and commitments coming up sooner so would like to participate in research and online discussions but can't do in person meetings right away........We should be brainstorming for sure though!

              I think that if accommodations go quickly, I'd be ready to commit immediately for what needs immediate commitment.
              i know some people can't commit as early and that is good that some people can.
              thanks for the useful research, Regina. it sounded quite useful. i am ready to lock it in! i want a decent place to stay in ibiza. How many rooms do we need? what are the prices?
              What is our choice for where we want to stay? How do we make it happen?
              what are all the other questions? it is new territory.
