hi everybody, not sure if I have ever introduced my self. I am a Dallas native who hassince relocated toboston and now los angeles in pursuit of the 'dream': studying with jillina and finally getting on the 'tour' yippee
I am coming to town may 8 through 15 and would love to know of any dance happenings or shows. I see al amir is popular. Are there any other restaurants? Live bands? Dancers? My parents live in duncanville I am sure there isn't much close to there but that is where I am coming from
Also class recomendationa would be appreciated.
Sorry for bad typing am sending from phone. am looking forward to getting to know some homegirls : D

Re: Bdss Dancer's homecoming
Tue, April 29, 2008 - 4:54 AMHi Lauren!
Well, Al-Amir is the main place in town to see good dancers. There is also Byblos out in Fort Worth but lately he's been having the same dancer over and over and I'm not even sure who else is dancing there anymore.
Classes in Dallas that would be fun is Tamra henna's Monday evening open class at Move Studio. Wednesday is Candace at the same location. Move is at Preston and Betlline.
There is also the Kismet Hafla but I think that might be the week after you leave.
If you wanted to travel furher out, there is Isis' studio in Bedford or Miabella in Fort Worth. -

Re: Bdss Dancer's homecoming
Tue, April 29, 2008 - 8:25 AMHi Lauren,
"It Is What It Is" a drum band that plays world rhythms including Pakistani-Hindi-Sufi, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Afro-Cuban rhythms.
We'd love it if you could come out to Banter in Denton on May 9th at 8:30 to midnight, even more so because it's so far from Duncanville.
Please see our tribe or profile. Banter is on Oak Street, a block and a half northeast of the courthouse.
I hope to see you there!
Todd
