I am working on a new article for NTMEDA members in Papyrus and I am trying to compile a list of "dancer remedies" to keep your body going.
For example:
* what is your remedy for sore muscles during or after a weekend workshop?
* What is your secret to getting rid of calloused feet?
* What do you pack in your bag or last minutes fixes?
* What do you snack on before a long show
* other ideas?
Responses here may be chosen to be printed in the next edition of Papyrus. I will include a photo of the dancer or musician and their website along with their response.

Re: What are your dancer remedies?
Fri, June 6, 2008 - 7:44 PMAlthough I usually have a pedicure before I dance, I don't like all of the callouses take off of my feet. I do this because I was dancing at a Kismet once and I stomped me foot to the music I was dancing to and my perfectly smooth foot cracked and bled....I have also burned my feet dancing on a not so great outdoor stage. So it seems to me that although callouses are not bery attractive they do protect my feeties!

Re: What are your dancer remedies?
Sat, June 7, 2008 - 8:38 AMI always have a black LRose choli bra top in my bag. In case I have any sort of bra mishap, I can throw that on and all is well.
Don't ask how I thought to do it. :)
And of course, safety pins, bobby pins, some sort of snack bar, a book for unplanned on waits, extra makeup.
I like my callouses.
As for sore muscles, I take advil before a workshop and I stretch through out the day. I try not to get completely cooled down unless it's lunch time or a lecture. I stretch well before getting in the car. Then I take advil on the way home.
At my show last night, someone brought in a big vegetable tray-I would have thought that would have beena bad idea, but I must have eatern 30 sugar snap peas with ranch and danced great!
