Tomorrow is the first Saturday in August. The temperature should surely be too hot to be drinking coffee. So, I am invitin' all y'all to Crossroads Market for a big 'ol glass of iced tea round brunch time. Cetacea and I are going to be there 10:30ish or so. Hope to see a crowd.

Hugs and stuff,

Jay Brannan (Ceth from Shortbus) in Dallas on 7/20

Jay Brannan, who played Ceth in our favorite faerie film Shortbus, is playing at The Loft in Deep Ellum on Sunday, July 20. Tickets are $15 and available through Ticketmaster.

You can check out Jay's music on iTunes, YouTube, or his web site.

http://www.youtube.com/user/jaybrannan?ob=1
http://www.jaybrannan.com

He's a bit of a folk singer in the vein of Ani DiFranco, Tracy Chapman, etcetera. I really dig his stuff and highly recommend it.

If anyone is interested in joining me, let me know! I've already sent Jay an email letting him know that at least one faerie friend will be in attendance to show support.

Hope you can join me!

Howdy y’all,

I was looking at the calendar this morning and realized that Thursday, July 3rd is the new moon. Being that everyone has the 4th off, Cetacea and I thought it would be nice if we could host a heart circle here at Casa de los Mariposas that evening. We are thinking of a pot luck supper early with circle to follow and leave the rest of the evening up in the air. If anyone is interested let us know.

Hugz all ‘round,

Cetacea and I would like to invite everyone out to Casa de los Mariposas for a documentary film night, Saturday, June 28th. We will be showing “10 More Good Years”-about the aging GLBT community- and “Small Town Gay Bar” about gay life in small southern towns. And, if there is any interest for a late night showing of “Shortbus” we can do that too.

Bring your own movie snacks and beverages of your choice.

A huge two night affair has been planned at Casa de los Mariposas this Tuesday and Wednesday evenings to watch "The David and David Show" (aka "American Idol") to see who wins this season's competition. This is a very last minute invite due to popular demand to watch said event on the big screen in the ballroom. There will be some sort of potluck appetizer thrown together and plenty of dishing the Davids (Or is that wishing) because both seem to have their avid fans amongst our little NOTX circle. Cum one, cum all!!

Hey y'all,

We had such a great time recently at the fair we have decided to go again. Memorial Day Weekend is the last weekend of the fair. It is also Cetacea and mine's hand-fasting anniversary. Currently the plan is to see if there is a consensus for which day to attend between those that could possibly go that weekend.

If you were to consider going, which day would you like to go? Saturday, Sunday or Monday? I am leaning towards Sunday just so those that work would have Monday to rest up before returning to the rat race on Tuesday.

Hopefully we can get a larger group than went a couple of weeks ago. If we can get ten or more together we can qualify for a group discount.

Today's faerie coffee was really, really nice. It was only the four of us but that seemed to enhance the moment. With most of the circle out of town celebrating Beltane those of us still here discussed a broad range of topics. American Idol was a very hot topic. The two David's seem to be a bit of a point of contention. Not which one is more talented of course but who's cuter. Then there was the discussion of heading back to Scarborough Faire as a group on Memorial Day Weekend. We broke up kind of early before lunch but know that we will all be back next week.

Our trip to Scarborough Faire yesterday was a wonderful affair indeed. Cetacea, Sophia and I arrived just after the gates opened, just after the rain stopped for the day, and everything was sparkling green and lush. We met up with Cumpanion shortly thereafter and spend the day exploring the park. It was full of treasures, mirth, merriment and song. Not to mention, and I am one not to mention such things, the wonderful cross section of delicious eye candy spanning the ages, sizes, colors and differing opinions of beauty with which the Goddess blessed our day. See the link….

Beading Party was Buzzing

What a great time yesterday. Several of the local faeries showed up to Casa de los Mariposas, here in loverly (Judy)Garland, TX, for the bead stringing benefit. We put together nearly thirty strands of 'like-minded" beads to sell towards alleviating the travelling expenses for those lucky NOTX faeries that are able to make the trip to Short Mountain's Beltane celebration.

The beads, along with some covered tins and pens, will be for sale during the gathering either on the porch or in the breezeway of the goat barn. Wherever there is space. Thanks to everyone who participated. It is a sure sign of faerie artistic talent that my little orphan polymer clay beads now look as if they were meant to be together all along.

hugz all 'round,

In (Judy)Garland, TX where last night the Goddess blessed my Spring garden with nearly two inches of rain. Everything is gushing with green this morning already. Yahoooooooooooo...........

Week of April 21st thru 27th

Hey faes,

This week there are four events where y'all will have an opportunity to take advantage of the new found energy swirling our neck of the woods lately.

--Wednesday April 23rd,- 11am till...-- I will be hosting a bead stringing party at Casa de los Mariposas in (Judy) Garland. I have several pounds of polymer clay beads that we will be sorting and stringing to make necklaces to sell at the Short Mountain Beltaine gathering. The money raised from this effort will be used to offset the traveling expenses of the NOTX faeries that are driving to Tennessee.

--Saturday morning, April 26th-- Faery coffee 10:30 am till 1pm or so..., at Crossroad Market @ Cedar Springs and Throckmorton deep in the heart of Oak Lawn.

--Saturday afternoon April 26th-- Mimosa in Concert at 4pm , details to follow because I want to make sure I have the correct information before I post anything. Maybe too we can add a dinner afterward??

--Sunday April 27th -- Visit Scarbourough Faire Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie.

With all things faery, the more the merrier so I hope to see all y'all there.

Esteban

In (Judy) Garland, TX where I am just reveling in all the left over energy in the house from hosting last night's full moon heart circle.

Don't y'all forget that we will be meeting for our weekly koffee klatch at Crossroads Market. It is at the corner of Cedar Springs and Throckmorton , deep in the heart of the Oak Lawn districtj;, in Dallas.

The folks that run the place are beginning to take a liking to us. Maybe some day our numbers will grow some so we can make an even bigger impact on their business. They are very nice folks. Come and meet the counter boy, Jimmy, the sweet pastries in the counter are not the only thing sweet to look over.

Woohoo!! the house is still singing after having a wonderful new moon heart circle. The vibe was really strong, and the shares particularly soul-felt. For everyone that was here, thanks so much for sharing your energy. For all of you that we called to circle with us in spirit thanks for lending us your energy. For all of you that didn't get to attend know that we hope to meet you at a hear circle soon.

I love that we have started to have heart circles in DFW. I hope to share the energy with others at others homes.
