• 6-7:00 Fundamental forms of modern poi $20 - Covers fundamental poi concepts, exercises, and poi scales. Indispensable for the beginner, fill in holes for intermediate spinners, and give advanced spinners a chance to delve deeply into the foundation that makes all advanced moves easy to learn and flow with.
• 7-8:00 Advanced Poi and technical concepts $30 - Covers an advanced model and understanding of the spin zones around the human body so that you can spin anywhere in any orientation including behind the head and back or under the legs. This also includes inside planes and inswings in between the arms all around the body. Further exploration in the body and poi relationships as time sculpture: tracing geometry through time. This yields incredible feelings and unbelievable visual effects for your audience. For the uber-advanced we can cover 'Composite' spinning: pattern construction using independent control of each hand/poi. For example advanced hybrids.

NATIUM World Dance & Kahlea will be hosting 2008's Bohemian Nights, a bellydance collection. The showcase will be a monthly or every other monthly showcase of all types of bellydance. Alterna-cirque bellies WELCOME!

Shows will take place at a venue in the Tempe area and will have an oldey timey, circus side-show, exotic feel. Bellydancers of all disciplines are welcome from:

Traditional : Egyptian, Turkish, Orientale, Persian, etc...
Tribal: ATS, World Tribal, Fusion, Modern Fusion, and Goth Fusion
World dance: West African, Eastern Euro folk, Flamenco, Zambra, Folklorico
Circus/show dance: Little Egypt, Mata Hari, Aerialists, themed...

Enter another place and time where world fusion bellydance company, NATIUM World Dance, known for blending various world dance flavors with bellydance, hosts Bohemian Nights, A bellydance cirque. This showcase of talent takes place in 2008 at _________, in Tempe Arizona.
As audiences wander in they are greeted with sights, sounds and scents evocative of exotic destinations, worlds away, and of times forgotten. From the rich looking textiles and decorations from other countries, to the sounds of worlds coming together under one roof, audiences will feel as though traveling to mysterious, foreign lands. Wander through the mini bazaar to barter, haggle and bid on unique objects d'arte from artisans and vagabonds.

Each Bohemian Nights showcase kicks off with a free mini bellydance lesson to familiarize the audience with this art form and to incite excitement for the dance jam later. Then, Bohemian Nights becomes a two hour-long showcase of dancers, ranging from student performers showing off what they've learned in classes, to semi-professionals desirous of more exposure, to special professional dancer guest stars who will light up the night. Some performers will dance with props such as swords, Chinese fans, fire, veils, skirts and more. After each event, the dance floor opens up for all dancers, whether in the show or in the audience, to get up and take part in an open-floor bellydance soiree, into the night. Performers from the show come out to dance and migle with the audience and to do a meet and greet. The showcase becomes a party for all to participate.

These events are for 21 and over crowds only, as the venue serves liquor. Come hungry too as the menu has tasty treats from appetizers to delicious grilled burgers.

A portion of ticket sales will be donated to a charity or used to benefit a local business selected by NATIUM World Dance, with a different charity or business selected for each show. Raffle tickets sold will also benefit these select organizations, with all proceeds donated to that charity or business. Gratuities and tips are always appreciated, a portion of which may also be donated to the charity or business selected as well.

Message us if you wish to audition for the successful production, Romantasy Cabaret. Not sure what it is? Been hiding under a rock? Been out of the country, out of the universe, out of touch? Look at our photo albums to get a glimpse into our naughty little adult circus show and decide if you'd like to bring your chops to the table.
We are open to all disciplines of performance and most especially are looking for:
Burlesque (classic and modern ok), contortionists, knife throwers, bullwhip artists, singers (naughty lyrics a plus), aerial artists, magicians, ballet dancers, tap dancers, jazz/modern dancers, showgirls, midgets, freaks, and anything you would find at an entertaining circus-sideshow-vaudeville-burlesque showcase for adults.
What we do not currently need: Fire performers or bellydancers.

In November 2006 the downtown community came together to support The Paper Heart as it struggled against mounting odds to stay open. With the help and donations by countless friends and supporters, The Paper Heart has moved from Intensive Care to Cardiac Recovery.
Since this event, resurgence in activity has happened at The Paper Heart with hosted monthly events by a diversity of film, music, dance and comedy regulars.
To celebrate and promote the variety of art, music and performance activities happening each month at The Paper Heart, the active monthly participants with The Paper Heart present the showcase �Cardiac Recovery at The Paper Heart�

As of now the site has us listed at 11:30 but we are trying to go on earlier so I could keep you posted if you'd like. But, why miss any of the FREE entertainment? Come for the whole show and see what The Paper Heart has to offer. Drop donations in the collection box up front or place donations in our tip hats while we perform. All tips from this performance will be donated. Phoenix area naughty show, Romantasy Cabaret, makes its final appearance of 2007 at Paper Heart Arts Venue at 750 NW Grand Ave on September 29. The show begins at 8:30 and tickets for $15, $20 and $22 are selling fast.

Romantasy Cabaret, described as a veritable buffet of naughty pleasures, blends dazzling cabaret with varietal vaudeville and sexy burlesque, adding a twist of raunch and a dash of grit. Audiences will enjoy three hours of variety entertainment at this 21 and over show, featuring several dance numbers, feats of fire, theatrical bits, juggling, and of course, burlesque.

Romantasy Cabaret is the brainchild of performer, Lucy Morals, a self described brassy broad with a mouth like a sailor and a bold persona on stage. The show boasts a cast and crew of about twenty performers, ranging from circus freaks who eat razor blades to bellydancers who "slither like a reptile", and from singers belting out hilarious lyrics to black light and sexy strobe light dances.

The show debuted on June 30, 2007 with reviews ranging from "best show I have ever attended" to "that was a bit much". Morals, not embarrassed about raising a few eyebrows in her audience thinks the valley secretly desires a swift kick in the panties with a bit of sass and brass; after all, every show has sold out. She warns that stuffy conservative types may not find the show amusing.

The three act show opens with a group number introducing the cast members to whet appetites of those in the audiences. A few intermissions are granted for leg stretching, outdoor smoking and trips to the wine and beer bar. The evenings close out with another group closing number and a cast after party where members of the show come out to mingle and dance with their audience.

Lucy Morals and crew hope that by bringing these sold out shows to Paper Heart, the venue will gain recognition and bring in new faces who have yet to visit the sprawling art and performance space.
Romantasy Cabaret, proving to be a big success will be reborn in 2008 under the name of Opulent Dreams featuring fantasies come to life and otherworld themes, as well as the opulence of other times and cultures. Each show is different so even repeat customers can enjoy new acts, fresh faces, and of course dazzling costumes.

As you may know, Romantasy Cabaret is always looking for classic burlesque performers as well as neo-burlesque performers. If you are skilled in the art of tease or want to become skilled, let me know so we can make arrangements! Preferably no goth-fetish-spanking-on-stage, sex acts, please. We prefer classy, teasing, old school strip or new school strip but not so much the plain ol nasty stuff. Now if you can do cheesecake, Betty Page-esque spanking stuff, that, we are ok with! But simulated humping on stage just aint what we want.

Lucy Morals has, herself, been performing in Arizona and California for five years and is one of the featured performers in the show as well.

Last night was GOLDURN AMAZING

If you missed Romantasy Cabaret last night, simply DON'T DO THAT AGAIN.

You would be wise to get tickets now for the next performance on the 28th of July, as they were already selling at last night's show.

It was completely sold out (even SRO) and people had to be turned away.

If you were there, tell others about it!

For a first show, it went amazingly smooth, with almost NO technical glitches. And the unavoidable performance "whoops" that always occur in even the most rehearsed shows were either unnoticeable or hilarious.

Rest assured, if you missed Satan's Angel's performance last night, you can be guaranteed that if she has anything to say about it you will NEVER see that (or those) again! Ask somebody else what I mean by that...

Plus, I witnessed something I thought I'd never see in my life: My wife, completely sober, on stage spanking another girl on the ass. Repeatedly. With her hand. With a SMILE ON HER FACE!

If you hope to get table seating, better get over to www.trashcityentertainment.com right away. The front row of couch seating is already sold out.
Tables are next. Once those fill up, then we sell the single seats. After that sells out, we can release standing room tickets.

The first show not only sold out but sold out over the limit we set (too tough to turn folks away!) but this time we wont be squeezing in the last minute arrivals. It gets too crowded. So best to go online now for prime seating!

Tell your friends...
The box office for Romantasy Cabaret tickets is now closed. If you did not pre-purchase your tickets, you may buy them the night of the show, while they are available. There are some, not many, seats left for $20. If you would like a seat, you should arrive at 7:30 sharp to purchase the last of the remaining seats available.
We will release 20 standing room spots at 8:15, the night of the show and those are $15 each, first come, first served AFTER we take care of the $20 reserved seat folks.
If you have any questions about ticket sales, you will be able to email me, Lucy Morals, the director of the show, up till Friday night. I will not be available by phone or email at all on Saturday.
See you Saturday night-we can hardly wait!

I wanted to remind everyone that tickets are already on sale for Romantasy Cabaret 2007, a show produced by Diabolique Unconventional Entertainment and directed by Lucy Morals. Last Round of Auditions for Romantasy Cabaret 2007

We have added one more audition day for Romantasy Cabaret 2007. The response from performers wanting to be part of this show has been great so we wanted to put one more call out.
Rahearsals for the entire cast are set for June 3, 10 and 24 (msg me if you dont know the location or time).
The show debuts on June 30 and we have already been selling tickets, many of them to out of state fans. (we have fans already???!!!)
So msg me ASAP if you have an act suitable for a cabaret, vaudeville, burlesque, cirque, freakshow, ah heck, you know... so I can arrange an audition for you.
Thus far the tentative line up looks like:

Romantasy Cabaret, a hilarious, theatrical, adult-fun production will debut June 30 2007 at Phoenix’ own Paper Heart Gallery at 750 NW Grand Avenue. The doors open at 7pm and the show begins at 8pm.
This unusual production will feature crass carnies, dancing dames, burlesque babes, saucy songstresses and fabulous freaks. Wander in and feel as if you have entered a circus sideshow complete with vintage-esque cigarette gals hawking cigars, cigarettes, candies and novelty items, as well as a boisterous Ring Master/Mistress of Ceremonies to greet you on your way in.
With circus acts and burlesque shows making a comeback in modern day, this show is sure to hearken back to an age where buskers and tramps earned their living by performing odd or sexy acts for higher society. Lavish costumes, a dazzling show and uproarious silliness will entertain all who “Step right up”.

Lucy Morals, producer of Romantasy Cabaret, also directs Diabolique Unconventional Entertainment, the core cast who is sponsoring this show. Added special guests include local burlesque icons, Lolita Haze & Satan’s Angel- The devil’s own mistress, as well as a host of other fine area entertainers including fire eaters and fire dancers.
Lucy Morals has, herself, been performing in Arizona and California for five years and is one of the featured performers in the show as well.

The production is created and directed by Lucy Morals, hosted by Trash City Entertainment and is held at Paper Heart Gallery.
The show runs June 30, July 28, August 25, September 29 2007.

Photo Shoot THANK YOUS!

A bazillion thanks to those who came out and participated in the scorching photo shoot on Sunday. It was hard work and pretty exhausting but so much fun!
Thank you a gazillion times over to those who shot us, those who helped carry props and those who helped mind Maggie.
I only got to take a few photos at our last location so I posted a few but there are far far far better ones to come. Just wait until you see the line u p this show has to offer! Holy smoking goodness.
I have so many ants in my pants from excitement.

The show is expected to roll out in June.
I will post dates and locations soon.
Thank you again for participating and braving the hot sun, the dusty air and my constant rearranging of bodies.

We aim to debut Romantasy Cabaret in June of 2007. We are currently scouting locations and are setting rehearsal dates. The photo shoot went swimmingly and pics will be posted here soon.
I am still open to seeing auditions between now and May if you or someone you know cares to try and join our merry band of freaks. Send me a direct message.
We have loads of dance but could use some magic, juggling, tricks, contortion, gaffes, freak show oddities, etc...I will also consider dance if it is something different from what we currently have lined up.

So what is Romnatasy Cabaret?

Romantasy Cabaret, Diabolique's Dirty Little Secrets is a produciton being sponsored primarily by Diabolique Unconventional Entertainment, a local area dance and fire troupe. It was the desire of director, Lucy Morals to take Diabolique and add another dimension to this fast growing performance sensation.
"Diabolique performs currently, primarily dance numbers with a funky fusion twist and hints at bellydance at times, as well as amazing fire tricks and fire dance."

What sets this performing troupe apart from so many others cropping up everywhere is the drive and determination of the troupe's founder, Lucy Morals. Backed by a stellar gang of up and coming dancers, Lucy claims she is surrounded by her dreamteam. She also emphasizes that her fire sect practices only SAFE fire guidelines at performances, by always, withouth a doubt, having TRAINED fire saftey personnel on hand, as well as fire extinguishers, water, perimeter personnel and her performers are all required to carry individual fire insurance.

"Safety has become almost a joke in some parts of the burning community. From full facial fires and throat burns to spewed gasses onto audience members, I can believe event and venue promoters dont require these burners to be trained and to carry insurance. Most venue managers dont even know if they have the appropriate permits on hand to have fire shows. They risk a nice little fine. We try to take the time to educate them so we can come back time and time again.
I have even learned of some fire acts mocking safety. I care about my people way too much to cast aside safety for the sake of doing a show. If they arent insured, if there's no TRAINED saftey available, we dont perform. If we are seen as the geeks of our local community, so be it. I wont ever be taking my crew to the emergency room during a show!"

With dance and fire as the core base of the troupe, Lucy who is also a professional belly dancer and instructor, yearned adding a more freakish element to her shows.

"I am a bit obsessed with burlesque right now. And no, I dont mean the Suicide Girls! I mean the old, classical art of the tease. I mean the old pokin fun and makin jokes about touchy subjects. I mean singing songs with lewd subject matter and naughty words. I also LOVE the feel of the old Vaudeville, circus, and medicine shows. I like that whole "Step right up and see our bearded little lady" aspect. It doesnt all have to be sexy to sell. It just has to be entertaining.

So she set out to put together a productrion. Auditions for her show began in December of 2006 and thus far, aside from the core chorus members of Diabolique, who do sassy song and dance bits throughout the show, she has added a talented freak of a woman who swings Samoan fire knives above her head and eats fire. She has also auditioned a sizzling dancer who performs a bit of illusionry while she dances. It's easy to miss these tricks because one is so focused on this beautiful dancer's moves that you may not notice her making things disappear and reappear! She is known 'round these parts as The High Pimpstress. Another audition set for later this month has a modern burlesque twist to it, with a fire dancer burning off her dress.

Lucy herself intends to debut her first live burlesque show and is thrilled to also have Lolita Haze added to the billing. Haze, a staple in Phoenix' burlesque community as well as a 2006 performer for Miss Exotic World Pageant in Las Vegas, is one of Lucy's inspirations in burlesque along with Princess Farahana and of course those trail blazers who started it all "back in the day"!

"I cant tell you how ecstatic we are to have Lolita doing some guest spots with us. She is charming and a real doll and she taught some of the troupe in their first burlesque classes ever! So it really is an honor for us to have her."

Other fun bits about this show is that even the non-stage personnel are sort of part of the show. From an old time cigarette gal, toting a sequined and fringed tray, spilling over with candy, gum, mints, cigars, and condoms to even the stage hands, everyone gets in on the act and dresses the part. Lucy hopes to have a Ring Mastress who acts as the spicy emcee of each show. Here's a hint-the Ring Mastress is a well known area performer who also indulges in monkey bellydancing, pudding wrestling and hanging out with roller derby grrrls.

"Of course with my background in bellydance, you can bet we will have Little Egypt in the show, performing the Hootchie Cootchie. She writhes like a snake, moves like a serpent and dances with seven veils!"

Partial nudity may at times be part of the show and themes are adult, suggestive and at times, down right naughty so nobody under the age of 18 will be permitted to any of the shows. Most of the shows will take place in theaters or lounges and the show is going to debut sometime in the first half of 2007.
"We still have a lot of preparation to get accomplished first. We have no budget to start with and sure could use some sugar daddies or sugar mommas to help us out. The stage sets will likely be sparse in the first year, but we hope to fuel funds earned in 2007 back into the production to make it even better in 2008."
Lucy hopes to pitch the show to a promoter within the next couple of weeks for monthly bookings in Phoenix and Tucson and hopefully even Flagstaff.
"We just cant wait to share this with you all. Phoenix hasnt really seen anything like this aside form the rare chances we get to see some of the fab national acts breeze through town. Aside from it being hard work, it will be so, so much fun. We are all wild and silly girls and cant wait to debut the show with eachother, for you."

Diabolique Tank Tops are HERE!

We just got in more of our cute little girly tanks. I will have them in my dance classes as well as at our shows.
They are black and the front reads in fucshia "Natium World Dance" with our logo the lotus flower and at the bottom it says "Good Girls".
The backside says in scarlett "Diabolique Unconventional Entertainment" with our devil's tail logo and at the bottom it reads "Bad Grrrls".
We are selling the tanks for $20 or 2 for $35.00. The sizes run S-XL and they are sized generously and nice and long.
Wear yours to a show and add your fave hipbelt and come shake it with us during open dance!
There are pics posted in this tribe's album, and I will get better ones up next week.
In my opinion, the Smalls will fit a A-B cup
Mediums will fit a B-C cup
Larges will fit a D-DD cup and XLs will fit you queens sized babes out there in F cups and higher. As I said though, they are sized nicely and they are longer than some of the little junior sized tanks you might find in stores.

Noel Yee’s Bio
Noel Yee has been involved in object manipulation for the past three years, focusing on poi and staff throughout, contact staff for a year, and most recently contact juggling. He values his experience training and collaborating with many individuals and groups including MCP from Scotland, Dave from Colorado, Isa Issacs and Temple of Poi, Zan from Instruments of the Now (which recently released the “Encyclopoidia”), Coven Fire Collective, LSD Fuego, InterKonnected, the fire arts festival with the IK dragon, and the Fire Conclave at Burning Man for the past two years.

Noel has taught contact staff classes in the Bay Area, South Bay, and is organizing classes in NY and the East Coast during this winter. He volunteered and taught a 30 person contact staff class at FireFrums in the Fall of 2006. In the Summer of 2006, Noel worked at Camp Winnarainbow teaching children circus skills and performance techniques. As a high school teacher Noel has a talent for explicit instruction. Romantasy Cabaret-AUDITIONS are being set! READ THIS

Message me to set your January 2007 audition date. You will need to audition for your part, piece or bit in full costume including hair and makeup. If you pass the audition process, your publicity photos will be taken on the same day as your audition so be ready to look pisture perfect.
Audition places are TBA but you need to message me right away to set a time and date that work for you to audition your piece.
Even if you are in a supportive position (cig girl, promo table, stage hand) I still need you to audition your costume because I want to be certain that you look the part that fits the show.

We have filled some of the positions open to be in the Diabolique cast for our 2007 production (yet to be named) however plenty of openings are available so now we are putting the call out to you!

Rippin Kitten-"Magic" Piece. Music is already slected, some material already worked out

Cigarette Girl- Not really a performance part as much as walking through the crowd pimping cigs, cigars, gum, condoms, Diab tanks and Gs (they're coming soon!), bumper stickers, flyers for future shows, adding email addys to the book, etc...
The tray will be provided as will the contents. after money is counted and inventory is accounted for, you get to keep your tips. You will also hand out ice cream to some of our guests during our Ice Cream skit.

Little Egypt- Bellydancer- Campy, old hollywood bellydance version of a harem girl belly dancer

Circus Ring Leader- (male or female ok)-must have a loud speaking voice (we do not yet have mics) and be able to dress in a fashion appropriate of a circus ring leader type of personna. Boho meets hobo is ok (think oldey timey vaudeville) or the red coat and bullwhip circus look is ok. I am flexible as long as our audience knows what you are. You will have many speaking roles and perhaps even an accent.

We also need a promotions table person. You will get in free to all shows, as well as other compensation. You will be seeling t-shirts, tank tops, bumper stickers, taking addresses for our email addy book, handing out biz cards, and so forth.

Other openings:
This is where it gets really fun! YOU come up with your own imaginative piece. Let me know when you have it all done and run it by me. You can then audition it for the cast to see if it will fit in with our production. This is a show that will feature burlesque (NO nudity), bawdy adult humor, skits, singing, dancing, tricks and magic, and so on. Think theatrical, laughter-invoking or mesmerizing. Think circus sideshow. Think old vaudeville, Think freakshow. Think old hollywood, campy, cheesecake. Think pin up girls, dancing girls, other eras and times. This is NOT a belly dance production. Open to drag queens!
All will provide their own costuming.

This production will be the likes of something Phoenix has not yet seen from a local act.

Mini Review- Diabolique's Funky Fusion Moves & Combos
Wednesdays- January 10, 17, 24- 8:45-10pm- This is required for the new members of Diabolique and for anyone in Diabolique who doesnt yet know the moves used in improv fusion for Diabolique. And by "know them", I mean you can lead them!
The moves are: Morticia, UTDC, The Hip Hop, PPRD, Mae West and Little Egypt We WILL be using these moves in 2007
If you learned ALL of these moves already and simply wish to review them, please email me directly for your reviewer rate.
*The way these classes will work is the same way I work my Saturday classes. Arrive at 8:45, sign in, pay, remove shoes and QUIETLY make your way into the room and participate in cool down which will actually serve as your warm up and stretching for your class. So at 8:45, I will always begin the beginning class' cool down then stretches. The two classes are in essence, nearly overlapping. At 9PM sharp, whether all are present or not, the class will begin and the front door will have to be locked for safety reasons. Adv ATS will be done by 10pm.

What is Diabolique?

Diabolique is a performance group, divided into 2 sects.
One sect is our Funky Fusion Fire & Dance sect.
Envision dark sultry mysterious vixens swaying and slithering on the dance floor to haunting music and upbeat club sounds. Add in candles, fire and other light catching things and you have our funky fusion fire and dance. This sect is only open to those members who have a dance background of some sort. Preferably a few years of dance and stage experience but if you gots talent-we can work with that!

The other half of Diabolique is our production sect wherein we put together bi-annual and annual productions of variety shows geared at adult audiences. We blend a bit of bawdy comedy, flirty burlesque, the phenom of fire, mysteries of magic and of course song n dance to bring a variety show of other eras and other places. This show takes you away to our fantasy land and this year, you get to leanr our dirty little secrets!

Diabolique news for 2007

I am currently working on putting together a production to put out in 2007. I will use primarily performers who currently work in Diabolique but there will also be plenty of openings for dedicated, self-motivated performers in various areas.
As many of you already know Diabolique is a troupe of performers (not just dancers) providing Unconventional Entertainment. We perform song n dance, comedy with naughty themes, skits, fire dances, etc...We are looking to make some pretty big steps soon and want to open up some opportunities to grow our little freakshow.

At this very moment, off the top of my head I am looking to cast and will need:

*The Ring Leader (male or female ok)-must have a loud speaking voice (we do not yet have mics) and be able to dress in a fashion appropriate of a circus ring leader type of personna. boho meets hobo is ok or the red coat look is ok. i am flexible as long as our audience knows what you are. you will have many speaking roles and perhaps even an accent.

*A fire eater or other indoor-fire performance (SAFE) piece or two-needs to be an insured fire performer who practices with full safety guidlelines and will be able to put together 1-2 pieces (complete with costuming & appropriate music) befitting a fire eating heathen. A tribal ooga-booga type is ok too-like back in the olden days when people thought if you had brown or red skin you were some evil sorecerer. again on costuming, i am flexible and open to your ideas.

*Little Egypt-An experienced belly dancer who can do a snake, sword or veil routine. Must be very flexible and wormy and snakey in movement style and have a full performance appropriate belly dance costume, including head veil so only the eyes show unless this veil is the one you will use for your veil routine. If that is the case, you will enter with eyes showing only then remove it for your veil dance.

*Brothel whores or "dancin gals". This costuming is quite flexible and these artists are asked to look a bit over the top as in too big of hair, too much makeup, ripped stockings, scuffed shoes, that sort of thing. All sizes are encouraged to apply for this role, big, tall, skinny, small, young od, and in between-heck even men can try out for this role! Drag queens???

*Puppet Mistress-filled

*Gender Bender-filled

*Fusion dance-filled

*Magic tricks-we have one spot filled but could use one or two more-jugglers, tricksters, any fun idea that will wow the audience works here. Rabbit in a hat, sword swallowing, saw the lady in half, etc...think cheeseball circus sideshow stuff.

*Animal tricks-but they have to be good! and HUMANE!

*Parasol dance-I need three dancing gals to do a lacy white parasol dance. Dancers must be willing to buy or make white cotton bloomers, white off the shoulder blouse, a corset of some sort and hair and makeup can be discussed later. Striped knee highs and dance shoes. Any size or age is fine.

*Living Dolls-I need one "ballerina", one cutie pie (like strawberry shortcake or a cute raggedy ann) and one nuveau doll (I can explain this more in person). Your role is to be lifeless, floppy or robotic in movement until the music brings your character to life. Any age or size is fine.

Ice Cream-potentially filled-but we do need understudies in the event all participants cant make a show.

Oddities-well, I know there are more PC terms nowadays but this is what we need-contortionists, midgets, acrobats, that sort of thing.

In addition to the above mentioned roles, we will need:
Stage hands-Lighting, music, and promo table personel to sell paraphenalia, take email addresses for our guest book, hand out stickers, etc...

I am very open to hearing your proposed idea if you'd like to be considered for our show. You will be asked to provide me with your music selection (unless singing then you can sing in your audition), costume idea from head to toe, a basic idea of the performance piece, and from there we will decide the next step. I would like all proposals to me by December 1st 2006.

After the proposals are all in, the currenlty active Diabolique crew along with promotional personnel, will review them, map out the show and ask for auditions.

OMGGGGGosh! I am still soooo high from Saturday night's show. You did a wonderful job and it felt so right. It'snot me, it's you. But we can still be friends. I mean that in a purely platonic way. And your outfit was smokin hot. Or maybe that was the candles. I dunno. But I wish you'd say yes. Just this once. Give me a chance. I'm not like the others girls...I'll be good to you this time, I promise. It wont happen again-oh wait! It had better happen again! That was a remarkably fun show and I hope TC gives us another "assignment" to come up with some funky new shit cuz that was downright fun! You fabulicious babes are kick ass!

Poi and Staff Classes in Tempe

It has been finalized; the staff spinning class is on! In this class, you will be learning basic staff moves to be used for fire spinning. This class has been developed for the beginning student as well as those with some experience, and it is open to both men and women. This class will be held on Wednesdays from 6 pm to 7 pm, beginning October 11th.

Modern Poi II begins Thursday, October 12th, from 6 pm to 7 pm. This class is a continuation of Modern Poi I, beginning moves. This class is open to anyone with basic poi knowledge. You will be learning intermediate moves and poi dance combinations that will result in a group choreography.

Spell Show Clarification

I know many of you have been getting fliers for TC's Spell Show and I just wanted to let you know that you will be seeing a combo of Natium & Diabolique members at this event. Originally I didnt mention scheduling Diabolique, since i thought she wanted Natium to perform, but with respect to her request for funky-California-style tribal-fusion stuff I asked her to instead schedule Diabolique. Unfortunately, the fliers were made and sent out listing NATIUM World Dance as one of the acts. I want to clarify that we will NOT be doing the typical World Fusion (ethno-belly) that your are accustomed to seeing. Instead you will see more of a lean towards our Diabolique material, with lotsa darker elements, canned music, wayyy different costumes and a style unique to what you would usually see from Natium. I just want to be very very clear to everyone who comes that this is not a new direction for Natium, rather, it is what Diabolique performs when we do funky-fusion dancing (without the comedy, burlesque and tricks.) (not THOSE kinds of tricks!) : )
So for anyone who is/was confused, you'll be seeing some Natium and some Diabolique members, and it's gonna be reeeeaaaalll goooood! You will not be seeing the World Fusion of Natium however.
For that you'll have to come to Big Daddy's on Sept 23 again!

Want to join forces with a superliciousfantabulous freakshow of performers? Do you dance? Sing? Are you dramatic? Funny? Silly? Got talent? Are you off center, like to juggle, twirl things or contort your body in odd ways? If so, you might be a nice fit with our little circus of dancers and fire performers. Diabolique is currenlty booking performances in Arizona for 2006 and we are looking to grow our little sideshow. Diabolique Unconventional Entertainment is the naughty alter ego performance collective to NATIUM World Dance with some members being in both groups. Consider what Natium does as rated G and PG and bump Diabolique into the R rating (sorry no Xs here, no nudity, no sex acts or stipping-it aint that kind of show). If you have a dark idea, a comedy skit, a unique dance piece, or perform any circus type arts, contact me directly for details to audition.
Diabolique has a definitive set of rules and requirements that must be fulfilled to perform with our core. Performing is something we take seriously and pride ourselves on being a very tightly knit, professional group of performers. No fly-by-nights, no loose cannons, and no mooches and no bi-polar drama queens (queens ARE okay, just not drama queens!). Only the serious, goal oriented and creativity driven need to inquire.

Spell 3 is a production where two worlds will collide. The ancient Art of Middle Eastern Dance will be honored in its traditional forms, with Classical Egyptian, Night Club Cabaret, American Tribal Style, Bollywood, sword, and veil dances. I saw this group at Street Scene, in San Diego, this past weekend. They were absolutely amazing. I watched their acts 3 different times because I loved them so much. There was a ton of other stuff to see but this was the best. It made the entire weekend. I'll send a link to my kodak gallery to whoever wants to see them (all of diab and whoever wants to leave their email addy here or send me a message with it). There was a ton of fire (fans, staff, fingers, poi, fire on the stage above and below). There was bellydancing. There was hula hoop dancing. There were people just going wild. There was an arial act and gymnast type pieces. There was a chinese dragon and these really cute and funny little guys in suits pretending to throw LED boogers at each other. The music was great. The music was loud. Someday Diab will be like that. Learn sassy moves, flirty combos and the babelicious styles of Diabolique dance. We will explore combinations for use in Diabolique improvisational dance, choreographies full of flirt, and props to wow your audience of one or many. *wink*.
We will also finish the choreography from Cerebral Tease (you do not have to have the 1st half of that piece known in order to participate in this class. The 2nd half may involve other <new> dancers).
This is a required class for those wishing to dance in Diabolique group pieces, but is also open to non-Diabolique members.
Special incentive: Studnets who want more? If you excel in this class, you may be offered a special guest star appearance in one of our upcoming gigs!
For the troupe members: We will be working on future show material in this class, which will not be taught in rehearsals. We will also be doing hands on learning, where YOU get to help create combos!

We are looking for performers and audience members to be at Big Daddys. Good Morning Arizona is going to do their show LIVE at our venue and we're going to have an auditions for the GONG SHOW that morning. Anyone who is interested in performing on stage, or being in the audience MUST call Chris at Trash City immediately so we can get you on the list to come in.
