Okay so I'm here in Dallas and the troupe competition has just begun. Dina just walked past me in the hallway and my knee almost gave out. Wow, she is just as amazing in person. She is a judge for the night and she walked in wearing a glamorous, sexy black dress with high heels. Pictures coming soon...

Re: Reporting Live.....
Sun, August 3, 2008 - 12:08 AMOkay so I have some pictures from this weekend that I'll post when I return home...
I can't believe I hung out with Dina outside the show this weekend. We shared some interesting conversations. She is a very kind, down to earth woman. She also has a great sense of humor. I took up smoking this weekend hanging out with her :)
Her workshop was very challenging. I didn't realize how many steps are in Dina's move. You can't tell from watching her videos but her feet are all over the stage with small, quick, intricate steps. She is very talented and creative- as if we all didn't know this already.
Seeing her perform live tonight was unbelievable!!!!
More to come! -

Re: Reporting Live.....
Thu, August 14, 2008 - 8:28 AMHi Roya. It was very nice meeting you in Texas. After studying and seeing Dina perform live I must say, I am even more infatuated with her style. I loved the cheorography, her personality, and cheekiness. The cheorography she taught was to a modern version of the beautiful classic song "Tab Wana Mali" I think it was sung by Fadel Shaker but I could be wrong. It was definately very challenging and complex. Her show took my breath away. Her costumes were gorgeous too. I can't wait till she comes back to the states again. I will for sure fly anywhere in the country to go study with Dina again.
