Hey Flowers!

I'm sure it won't come as a shock to find out that Arizona Traditions has decided to cancel their Father's Day event. However, there has been scuttlebutt (love that word) about The Flowers going ahead and doing their own show at another venue. I've discussed this with Diosa and here's the latest proposition: If we could find our own venue (possibly our church's Fellowship Hall,) we could put on our own show, sell tickets to same and use the proceeds to help fund our costuming needs. Unlike Sultan's, we would actually have tickets sales instead of relying on donations (which may or may not be successful) and we'd have an area large enough for all of us to dance together without knocking elbows AND there's a good sound system that works. Obviously, there are a few problems with our church's Fellowship Hall. We'd have to get creative and make our own stage area, but for a group of gals who turned an 11' by 5' trailer into a harem, I doubt we'd have a problem. And the floor is carpet which is difficult to dance on. Of course, if anyone has access to a better place, by all means, let us know. Further, as Diosa pointed out, this one show needn't be the ONLY show we put on. We could still perform at Sultan's and other venues as well. This suggestion will be up for discussion and a vote on Thursday night at Troupe class.

I share your disappointment in the way things turned out at Arizona Traditions, but at least we can thank them for getting us motivated to explore new ideas for our performances! Yes, just call me Little Mary Sunshine. Until Thursday, my Fellow Flowers! XXOOVO.
