When were you in Lawrence, Elle? Lawrene is my home (born here believe it or not) and there's quite the belly dance community here....Not unless you were here while I was on the road an a Renaissance Festival circuit for four years :O)

On May 23rd I'll be teaching what I started at MuddSlide this past Saturday: Zills, setting zills to steps/combinations, drumming, setting steps/combinations to drumming, setting drumming to match the dance. MAYBE I can get through it all in two hours LOL!

Cartouche/Kathy Alkoudsi is just right down the street from the ECM building. Kathy cooks a big spread of Middle Eastern food for lunch while you shop in her warehouse of everything you would want in dance--two floors worth! I I know a lot of dancers come primarily for the opportunity to shop there.

Of course an afternoon show until about 4:30, then people may go back to Cartouche or head home. Like MuddSlide, it gets people home early without having to spend money on hotels.

      Hope you can come!
