um I wouldn't say any more than anything else. I find my headdress to be lighter than a standard set of cowrie falls.

some washers are heavier than others
your whole washer costume rocks!

How clever is that?! How did you come up with the idea of using washers instead of coins? I really like the urban, industrial feel it gives your costume. Kind of a Charles deLint/Emma Bull thing.

Very pretty!! I made a belt like that about a year ago! I love the washer as coins idea, it is so much cheaper. :-)

Wow. I've seen washers used in costumes before, but never quite as jingly coin replacements--nice industrial feel to it, with the chains and washers. Good balance of busy and simple elements, too.

Thanks! when I feel the need to be noisy I drag it out and shake. ... they make me happy. =) Have been wanting to add some more chain for a belly drape, but I moved and have buried pliers and chain alike!

Have you tried to make a hip scarf with them yet? Are they as noisy as coins? I'm looking to make a hip scarf from some camoflauge material I'm using in my gypsy skirt. This would be a really cool touch to the camoflauge I think but I'm worried about the weight on the sheer material. Do you think it will work?
