Banjara Skirt Surgergy
Seen here - The orange lining has been carefully seam ripped to reveal a folded layer of fabric that acts as a cushion between the lining and back of the mirror panel.
Happy surprise! After running a couple of basting stitches - I discovered that light blue line is actually the "stay stitch" holding the pleating together, not the very, very small (nearly invisible) stitches that hold the skirt onto the mirrors. I seam ripped out the small stitches and the mirrored panel came off beautifully - and best of all - NO CUTTING REQUIRED!
I really like the cushioning fabric. So I'm going to use that as the new yoke for the skirt.
