I made this entirely out of oxidized sterling silver wire, garnet, onyx, and chalcedony. It took me about 6 or 7 hours to complete. Its an 18" long choker. I can't sew, but I can make some really unique jewelry :)

..save for the melodias. The gloves used to be the 'drapey' part of a babydoll nightie, the bra came from the top of the nightie, and the belt was made with lilac collinette, various fabric strips, and sequins. The bra and belt both have kuchi chains and fringe, and the bra has turk buttons(barnacles) and purple/red dyed freshwater pearls.

I felt I HAD to share this cool Joannes Clearance find :)I got nearly four yards! I think this is the fabric I will use when I attempt my KC style fluffy pants. I think the ruffles will be lovely in it.... unless you all have some other suggestions? (as a side note I decided to wait until winter break to attempt said pants, me thinks they will be very time consuming) I'm going to attempt making an actual tutorial during the process, so as to maybe help some others create some too!

Not sure if this is goth or steampunk or simply tribal fusion or what...it was just fun. We did this for the second half of our Rakkasah East performance. We all made our own mini-tophats and tops, Rebecca made her pants and mine and all of the armlets, belts were made for previous performances.

Inspiration

I think this photo is the inspiration for my next costume. I have a pink hipscarf with black beaded edge, and a pair of earrings that look a lot like the fasteners on this belt. But, I don't really like the circular cup look (at least not on me!) so I need another way to work the circle motif onto a normal shape bra or maybe top.

...selfmade, of course. I did forget to pack my vest though. Its a turkish vest made from the flowery fabric. Thats why the bra isnt decorated on the back. Gonna wear this to a Balkan Beat Box piece. Its really multi-kultii (as we say in Germany) though; the fabric with the flowers has Asian dragons and cherry blossoms on it, the big metal pieces are from turmenistan, the jewellery...well you know. I still need to tape the card board in the bottom, and add the stand, but for the most part this is how yours should look! I still plan to buy a roll of colored duct tape and apply a fourth layer, just to pretty it up a little. :) Pretty Cool Right? I hope this inspired all of you!

Try and get your dowel close to the middle, without upsetting your hook to much. and then STUFF the HECK out of it! :)

Neck/Hook

My hook is not exactly centered, but it is straight and vertical, which is important if you plan to hang your dress form.

Hanger and Dowel

You'll notice the curvature of the hanger at the apex(where the hook is inserted). This is where I drilled two small holes and then attached the dowel with two screws. Be careful to attach below where your hook is inserted, otherwise your likely to snap a drill bit.

As Close tot he center of your back as your partner can manage you'll cut from bottom to top. :)
