To oil your MACHINES!

I always seem to forget untill the poor machine is yelling at me.... Then I realize how LOUD it was and hope that it dosnt hate me for long afterwards!!!

I tore apart my serger case this evening, and oiled up everything I could get to, and oh my does it sound like magic!
My normal machine just got oiled a few days ago. I should have done the serger then!!!

But yah... Love and adore your machines!!!

Who else forgets??? LOL

i do! the little machines are prolly in MUCH need of it, but 'big bertha' has an oil reservoir that self-oils the machine. i like that!

I add a drop of silicone-stuff to my thread (bobbin and spool) as well - my treadle machine loves it, cannot speak for electric.

I try to do it once a week if I've sewn the whole week.
It is very important to do this(like putting oil in your car-very important to check often)

My husband is the one who reminds me as he can hear the machine when I am sewing.

I do lots and lots of sewing... Its never ending!

both of my machines are happy today =)

You machine manual should tell you what parts of your machine to oil (sewing machine oil can be bought anywhere that sells basic sewing supplies). If you don't have the manual for your machine, try looking for a version online - every machine is different.

And if you don't have sewing machine oil I have found that olive oil works just as good to lubricate the machine. Don't know if there are any long term issues but I have done it for prolly for the past year on my serger without any problems.
