Fabric flowers

Hi, I'm making a headband to match a costume I'm wearing at a Hafla next month and I wanted to make some flowers out of the leftover fabric that I've got from the clothes but I have no idea how to go about it! I don't particularly want fancy ones, just plain and simple really. Any suggestions would be great :)

Just thought you might like to know that I went and bought some large (and cheap) star shaped cookie cutters to make some flowers on the same principle as this and they've come out looking like star-gazer lilies!!!! They're gorgeous :)

Try this .....this pattern comes out like a daisy or something similar...really simple, but I think they're cute.
Anyway, make a heart pattern, this can be any size you want but I use about 3cm size, cut out 8 hearts using the pattern, with fabric glue...or if you are patient enough stitch them, overlap the heart shapes in a circle - if you overlap half of the heart shape, the flower forms a 3D shape rather than being flat....you can add beads to the centre and attach them to clips or hair bands or what ever you want! These are particularly effective if you use felt because it is a thicker material - but any material will work... ;o)

Thanks so much :) Everyone in my class has been so impressed that they want me to make them to sell so new designs are always welcome :)
