Deadpool is the SO's fave character next to Wolverine. LOL!

No sewing this year for me. Looks like it'll be scrounge the closet and see what's in there, scrounge the fabric stash and see what I can use with safety pins. One year I went as a witch. I had some spider fabric I didn't mind cutting up and pinned it to a black shirt and over a black skirt and noone noticed, they thought it was made that way. Safety pins are a girls best friend. LMAO!

Sigh. I haven't even started my Halloween costume because I'm finishing a belly dance costume for a Halloween Hafla performance tomorrow. On Sunday, I can start my Halloween costume.

i'm busy working on a belt for a hafla on sunday too but fortunately my costume only requires that i write on a shirt with a sharpie and smudge my lipstick real bad.. hehe

The belly dance outfit is circus inspired, but not a literal interpretation of one. For the Halloween costume, I'm going to make that Steampunk Victorian skirt that Erika posted a tutorial for, and if I have time, make a period jacket. If I don't have time to make the jacket, I'll wear my red brocade and black leather Victorian corset with it. :)

I still can't bring myself to sit at the sewing machine - in spite of having things to sew up for friends.

IF I do anything for Halloween, I'll wear my belly-dancing pirate outfit from the June show.
My kidlets - well, they can never make up their mind in time for me to sew anything and I refuse (especially right now) to be rushed.

I made my husband an Elvis suit, and I'm still sewing the jewels on it.

I made myself a Princess Elizabeth I costume for a Renaissance festival this summer, and never wore it because the weather was too icky. I never got around to making the French hood, and I don't think I'll have time.

Reusing last years costume that was so complicated to sew that I made my Mommie do it. Gonna get as much use as possible out of it. I DO still have to tack on some bits and make the jewelery. Going as American McGee's Alice but I can't bring myself to splash blood or ashes on my costume so I will be Clean but Goth Alice. Was regular Alice last year but I have new boots :)

because i'm in a troupe, i always go as a bellydancer for Halloween, every year! this year we'll be at the Mercury for "Depth Charge: Terror from the Deep" night on Halloween. so we've been working with decayed cheesecloth (looks like rotted fishing net), dead dried starfish, and dark taffeta shredded to look like seaweed. yeehaw! a sea-witch look.

of course i was up last night sewing that costume because i'm going to wear it tonight too to a Halloween hafla at the Funhouse. Haven't even finished the bustle yet... I'll be sewing it in the dressing room still tonight, knowing me!

No Halloween shenanigans for me this year, much to my annoyance. *pout*

Last year we hosted a Steampunk and bellydance cabaret and encouraged all of our guests to dress up. It was a huge hit. We were supposed to be doing another themed show this year, but decided to postpone it for next year due to an overabundence of life issues for everyone.

    Bah Humbug.

Me as well. Still have to sew some sort of Frankenstein-influenced dance belt (it'd be a corset belt if I had time, but I don't think I do because I'd have to redraft my pattern). Going as the Bride of Frankenstein('s Monster) to a Halloween Hafla, then out afterwards-- so gotta make the coverup/dress yet, too. Caved and *bought* the 8 year old's costume.

Unfortunately I get to work tonight. But Wal-mart had these tiger ear headbands with tails. And since I had an orange shirt from work, I painted black stripes on it. So, I'm a Subway Sandwich Artist Tiger. Sigh, so sad. But at least we get to dress up.
