The time has come...for a new Moderatrix.

Well ladies, I've had my fill being a moderatrix! This is a huge tribe, a successful tribe, and I'm ready to pass it on.

I have a few people in mind that I think would make EXCELLENT moderators of the most popular DIY dance tribe in all of Tribedom. However, seeing as how this is such a large tribe and a harmonious group, I'd like to extend the opportunity to submit nominations for the new Moderator.

Sooooo...

Nominate yourselves or each other in this thread! I have some top choices m'self, but in a tribe this large, majority must rule.

While nominating, keep in mind the following points:

- this tribe is big. It's not hard to manage, but it requires attention, Things here never seem to get bitchy, catty, flamey, or any of that other nonsense we see on so many tribes. I truly believe that the lack of spam and the constant attention to cross promotion and non-commercialism is a huge part of that. Please be sure that if you are nominated or are nominating yourself, that you keep in mind the things that allow a big tribe to run so well - neutrality and organization! You are of course free to run it any way you want, but I really believe that this place is the way it is because of the way it has been run. Just sayin'.

- This tribe is something to be proud of. 3 years ago I started it as a way to get little tips here and there, and it has grown into a full-fledged community. In 3 years, the only posts I have had to delete have been ads. No one has crossed the line of civility or common courtesy, and I want to thank you all for that. Real friendship and cooperation on a social networking site this large is almost impossible. Congratulations to you all for making it that way!


I will miss my Tribe, but it's time to move on.

Let the nominations begin!! A clear favorite will be awarded the post by the end of the day tomorrow(Pacific time).

    Imagine my surprise when reading through this thread, and there's my name......
    nominated to be the new moderatrix. I could feel myself blush ;-)

    With all the knowledgeable folks on this tribe to chose from, this is really such a compliment that a simple thank you doesn't seem to quite cover it. However, thank you.

      Oh, crap. I must have been EXHAUSTED when I read that. I thought it was Etana we were talking about, but Erika would be phenomenal, too! (Cuz she rocks with her crafty self!) I'd be pleased as punch with either of those lovely ladies moderating.

      So just to clarify, I was nominating Etana. :)

    My first 2 thoughts were also Erika & Etana -- either of those ladies would be WONDERFUL! And then imagine my surprise when my name was even added next to theirs. ::blush:: It sounds cheesy, I know, but it's truly an honor to even be considered with such talented ladies.

    And thank you, Angelina, for running such a wonderful tribe. Its success is truly a testament to you, without a doubt.

      So funny - all of the names mentioned so far make up my entire list of folks I would have nominated!

      Sooooo....we have some clear favorites. I wish I could appoint more than one mod, but I only get one button to push.

      So far we have :

      Erika
      Etana
      Bellatrix


      I'd love to appoint someone by this evening - do we have any more nominatons, or do any of our nominated Crafties have anything they want to put forward? If you couldn't vote for yourselves, who would you vote for?


      ...hehehe, man I'm such a Canadian. I'm sitting here thinking of a majority and opposition party.... ;)

      Angelina - your tribe is a treasure trove of information. With almost 3000 members, just about anything I've wanted to find out - this is my first stop. You did good, girl!

      Here's my plug
      Bellatrix bails me out with links & stuff (other tribes, too)...not to mention knowing tons of stuff
      Erika has good how-to blogs - always accompanied by lots of links <<and the hunky pictures she finds makes for some pleasant viewing>>

      Between those two, it would come down to how they felt about it. Then I could pick one or the other.

        roflmao... Etana, I was totally thinking the same thing about you & Erika. Here's my 2 cents...

        Etana - very encouraging to others & talented herself, yet humble & sweet. Lots of good $$$-saving ideas.
        Erika - comes packed with how-to knowledge, great DIY ideas to help save $$$ and an uber-cool DIY blog to boot.

        For me, I'd say it would come down to who would have the time. Only they can answer... Neither or them is currently a moderator of another tribe (that I know of), but we all have non-Tribe commitments as well. I think Etana seems like she'd be willing, but we have yet to hear anything from Erika. And I know she does quite a lot for the Etsy Bellydancers Street Team, too...

        I'm so not any help...lol.

    Angelina-This is one of the first tribes I clicked on
    This was one of the first tribes I joined
    I hate to see you leave as the moderatrix-its your baby
    and my oh my has it grown
    but I'm so glad you made it cause its helped me so much these 3 years
    and your awesome girlfriend-I wish you stay on but I understand

    What ever you do I am fine with
    I love both Etana and Bellatrix-
    and both girls are the bomb on making things
    and both help out ladies on here and other tribes all the time
    Either one of these ladies be awesome as a moderator

    I'm totally flatered with the gals naming me
    but its what you and the gals on this tribe want- you decide-
    I'm taking my step back

    I do moderate three tribes-
    Hugh Jackman's tribe-gee who would have known???
    U2's tribe
    and Bono's tribe
    but its not a big deal since I do most if not all the taking, pictures every couple of weeks
    sometimes I think I hear crickets on those tribes but it seems people don't mind
    reading my dribble-have people join those all the time-
    don't know if it matters but just wanted to lyk I do

    sometimes I just have diarrhea of the keyboard
