Wed, November 19, 2008 - 2:02 PMYes....but WHEReeee.... I am a 34 AA... I have difficulties finding nicely shaped and sturdy bras that aren't a fortune. So I'm looking for the *where* of the Bra Bases... -

Re: Bra Bases - I know it's in here somewhere?????
Wed, November 19, 2008 - 2:02 PMI think Fredrick's and Victoria's Secret are a little pricey for bras that one is going to completely deconstruct. I've found good sturdy bras at Target for very cheap. -

Re: Bra Bases - I know it's in here somewhere?????
Wed, November 19, 2008 - 2:50 PMDude, I just go to walmart and get one for under 10 bucks with cups that stand up on their own. -

Re: Bra Bases - I know it's in here somewhere?????
Wed, November 19, 2008 - 2:52 PMAnd if you look at the bra in my profile pic, that's a Walmart base and the whole bra is made out of metal and it stands up ok. If you're going super heavy, maybe iron in some interfacing? I've never had to, and I have no idea if that works, so take that with a grain of salt. -

Wed, November 19, 2008 - 3:00 PMawesomeness....I shall enter the evil wal-place thinggie for a decent bra base :) Thanks

Re: Bra Bases - I know it's in here somewhere?????
Wed, November 19, 2008 - 3:49 PMIf you're going super-heavy, you can also sew some boning along the upper edge of the cup and vertically on the cup (making a T) to help add some needed stability & strength.

Re: Bra Bases - I know it's in here somewhere?????
Wed, November 19, 2008 - 4:23 PMI recommend Wally World, too...altho I hate the place, sometimes it's a necessary evil. I get all my bras there...the Fruit of the Loom ones are great and have some really cool colour combos, so lots of times, I just change the hardware out and go with the original colour scheme. Works a treat! -

Wed, November 19, 2008 - 4:24 PMShamsi,
Check out One Hanes Place online...they have bras in all sizes ((Bali, Hanes, Playtex, even a few Wonderbras)). It might be hard to figure out how sturdy they are from the descriptions - but they're reasonably priced, so it's worth a shot. Oh, and I've never had a problem with ordering or returning items. -

Re: Bra Bases - I know it's in here somewhere?????
Wed, November 19, 2008 - 5:17 PMI use only the Hanes push up bra....called the 1-2-3 or formerly the Lovable bra.
The BEST cups around I have found to hold all the kuchi as well as keep nice shape and quality for decent price. -

Thu, November 20, 2008 - 3:54 PMDo you have photos of the 1-2-3 converted into a costume? (I plan on making a new costume too.)

Re: Bra Bases - I know it's in here somewhere?????
Wed, November 19, 2008 - 7:06 PMVirtually all the bras on the market these days are those awful shaped foam underwire things that stand up by themselves. TONS of them at Target (Gilligan & O"Malley brand); also Playtex.com had some for under $15 fairly recently; I think it was something like the Dream Bra. If that's been discontinued, I bet they've replaced it with something similar. -

Re: Bra Bases - I know it's in here somewhere?????
Wed, November 19, 2008 - 7:07 PMOh, and you want a convertible style so the cups will lay properly when you halterize them.

Re: Bra Bases - I know it's in here somewhere?????
Wed, November 19, 2008 - 9:58 PMI would try Kohl's. I am a 32A and I can usually find a bra there especially the playtex "thank goodness it fits" line. I know I've seen AA's there before. They usually have some sales, and also often have a rack of clearance bras. Could you wear a 32 A and use one of those extender things to make it bigger around? They might be easier to find. I just bought a decent bra at Burlington for 5.99! I don't think they have the In-between sizes though.
