I can't find the thread that gave instructions on how to take an old t shirt and cut it into a choli with long ties that go around your back. Can anyone help?
Also, is there a way of altering blouses into cholis as well? Is it as simple as cutting them to expose the belly, elastic around to keep it from riding up, and maybe removing the sleeves if desired? I'm thinking the neckline/collar would keep you from having a bit of cleavage showing. Thanks to all.

Re: How to cut a t shirt into a choli?
Wed, October 29, 2008 - 11:48 AMI didn't check out the other threads, but here's a direct link to the Frankencholi Tutorial. I've made a couple of them, put wide elastic at the bottom front half, and they turn out great.

Re: How to cut a t shirt into a choli?
Fri, October 31, 2008 - 8:17 AMThese are great...but there was another one kicking around....it turns a shirt into a choli with ties that go around the back...I believe you cut down the front and somehow around the shirt so that there are two ties that you pull to the back...sound familiar to anyone?

Fri, October 31, 2008 - 9:18 AMI' m confused - because the Frankencholi one mentioned above DOES tie around the back... That's not the one you're thinking of? -

Re: How to cut a t shirt into a choli?
Fri, October 31, 2008 - 9:23 AMNo, there was another one I'm sure....but it's hard to explain it and that's why I'm looking for instructions! You leave the back closed but somehow, when you cut down the front you also keep going and cut along the lower edge of the shirt and they fold back. It's something like that anyway. I might have to find some old t shirts and experiment.

Re: How to cut a t shirt into a choli?
Fri, October 31, 2008 - 9:22 AMIt sounds familiar - I may have it bookmarked at home. I have a tshirt with a cool design on the back that I want to salvage and it seems like I looked at those instructions, but decided that they weren't "idiot proof" enough for me then. Lol.
