I would like some ideas for peacock feathers, especially maybe some hair falls stuff. My daughter brings home a bouquet of them about every other week from a guy that comes into her store, he is a peacock rancher........I have found earring ideas. Any sites or ideas would be appreciated! thanks

One idea I've used is weaving the main part of the 'stem' into hair falls and leaving the tip to hang at the bottom...and I made a belt with all kinds of feathers dangling down from leather strips...people.tribe.net/d8d66e42-...e0c1122... a feather mask would be another idea...or using the tips to just pop into your hair...or covering a bra...or, well, the possibilities are endless...
Can you tell that I love feathers? *giggle*

Sun, October 5, 2008 - 10:21 AMI've seen bras covered with the 'eyes' which are pretty awesome. I've also seen the 'eyes' used hanging from belts which is really striking against a pale skirt. I'm actually currently using a bunch of peacock feathers in hair falls with just the eyes poking out and I've made a hair ornament using a feather framed with peacock sword feathers just to hang down too. -

Sun, October 5, 2008 - 1:39 PMI haven't tried it (mostly because I haven't got any) but if you had some fairly wide bore beads I think it would be gorgeous to drop them onto the quill of the feather so that they'd show up on your fall :) -

Mon, October 20, 2008 - 9:51 AMHaving tried out my feathered hair falls on Friday my advice would be to cut them down so you only have the amount of quill you need to attach them securely. The reason being that they don't bend and will catch in just about everything else until they stick straight out the side of your head and make you look like a scarecrow!!!

Mon, October 20, 2008 - 11:22 AMA girl in my troupe wrapped the ends of small bundles of them mixed with other long feathers with electrical tape and just let them hang from her belt like tassels. I'll try to find a picture.

Tue, October 21, 2008 - 9:25 AMfans are pretty. I use a bouquet of them to hide my computer wires. If you want to be really wild, make some false eyelashes out of some of them! You could encase some in glass for coasters or suncatchers (the suncatcher ones will fade eventually tho).
I know those weren't hair fall ideas, but it sounds like you get a lot of feathers and will need more ideas than the falls!
Oh, and you could sell some to me!
