i was thinking a really light teastaining might do it?
my top for the Bride costume is EXTREMELY white, adn the hipscarves i borrowed aren't quite as white, and i want to change the tshirt to match?
or maybe i could wash it with like... hm... something yellow or brown??

Re: making a white shirt off-white?
Fri, October 17, 2008 - 11:21 AMI was thinking the tea staining would work - starting with one bag. Do you have a scrap of the fabric for experimentation?

Re: making a white shirt off-white?
Fri, October 24, 2008 - 11:33 AMCoffee works too, and works better on polyester than tea does.
My curtains are a discontinued style, they didn't have enough panels in olive green so I bought one in bright white. 100% polyester. I made two pots of extra strong dark coffee, dunked the fabric in, and let it sit over night. Then washed it in cold water and a quick run through a cool dryer. It came out looking quite antique! -

Re: making a white shirt off-white?
Fri, October 24, 2008 - 12:47 PMI did my muslin curtains with coffee... the tea was too yellow, the "natural" muslin was too yellow... so I went with coffee. PERFECT color! =)
mmm... coffee...
