Coffee works too, and works better on polyester than tea does.

My curtains are a discontinued style, they didn't have enough panels in olive green so I bought one in bright white. 100% polyester. I made two pots of extra strong dark coffee, dunked the fabric in, and let it sit over night. Then washed it in cold water and a quick run through a cool dryer. It came out looking quite antique!
