Re: tubing like stuff around stretchy shirts to cover raw edges
Tue, October 28, 2008 - 10:13 AMDo you mean bias trim? Comes flat and you sew it around the edge. -

Tue, October 28, 2008 - 11:45 AMohhh, but you have to fold the edges of the bias trim before you sew it? Im not talking about that ribbed stuff. I am so clueless with terminology...

Re: tubing like stuff around stretchy shirts to cover raw edges
Tue, October 28, 2008 - 12:40 PMyou can make it by sewing bias trim over a cord, or shoe lace, or you can buy it like that, but only in the colors/sizes they carry. here's a pic from jo-anns.com incase we're talking about something totally different: www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp (you have to look closely. the flat part is the part you sew into the seam, and finish is the piping on the right side along the seam)
this is a version "for" upolstery www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp

Re: tubing like stuff around stretchy shirts to cover raw edges
Tue, October 28, 2008 - 5:22 PMi think i know what you mean...it is a type of seam binding but it is for stretchy stuff. it is lycra-like material to bind seams, and i am sorry but i don't know what it is called either.
