There I was quite chuffed with myself that I found a glittery, but not scratchy, silver hair band to go with my outfit for the Hafla. Skipped to my fabric store to look for items to decorate it with and it had closed due to flooding.

Does anyone know of any UK online resources where I can get sparkly and feathery adornments and if poss offcuts of purple velvet????

I only have 4 weeks to go and cant chance an overseas company which is kinda sucky

  • Eek, and now I've delurked and only just seen this, you've only a fortnight to go!! Did your local store reopen, or is it gone for good?
Okay, here's who I use for my fabrics and haberdashery - not offcuts, but you can get raw materials to play with. Sorry, I haven't got any purple scraps, otherwise I'd post them to you (yep, I know what it's like - you don't want half a metre, you want ...). Have you got a local market which might sell feathers, haberdashery and so on?
Otherwise, I generally buy online from:
Fabric Land (they don't have an online shopping basket, as such, but phone them, I've never had bad service!) www.fabricland.co.uk/
    Cheap Fabrics UK www.cheapfabrics.co.uk/
There are loads of others, but I don't have enough of an ordering track record with them to know if they're fast and reliable.
    Good luck!
