every year our community has an event called Bust of Steamboat that auctions off artsy bras or bra-related art/photos/scultures/paintings/etc to raise funds for local women who cannot afford mammograms or breast cancer treatment related expenses. our troupe is donating a package that includes a vintage beaded beladi set, a session of lessons, a cool bindi and some other related items. We need a name for our bra package. One of the girls suggested "bellies and boobs" but I think we can do better. i suggested "racks sharqi" but she thought non-belly dancers wouldn't get it.
i thought I would post here looking for suggestions since this is a creative group...

While I've heard a lot of debates as to whether Greeks actually perform "belly dance", I think you could probably bill it as a Diana Dancer package or some such. When you choose a name, please don't go with something sickeningly cutesy-poo. This is a serious disease that still seems to be treated with a nudge and wink by the media because it involves breasts. -

I hear what you are saying about "cutesy poo wink nudge" names...but a lot of the projects have names that play on breast "slang" and are just that- the event is VERY fun and many entries are playful and silly and have names that reflect that- in order to lighten up a serious subject perhaps. But this is an annual event that raises several thousand dollars in funds for local women who can't afford mammograms, treatment for breast cancer, or cover any bills they may have because they are out of work due to their illness. So out of some potentially silly entries, lots of good comes and awareness is raised.
That being said...Thank you both for the suggestions and I will forward them on and see what everyone thinks!

Fri, October 16, 2009 - 7:19 PMwe had a dance event locally to support a women's rescue shelter, it was themed "Dancing for those who can't". Mabey something Dance to remember those who can't? Or perhaps a Bra picture logo on the tag, and a play on words, "Support" a cure?
Only other thing I could come up with is "shake it for a sister".
