Something to get creative thoughts flowing. I find that my creative slump is really bumming me out. A few weeks ago, went on a peruse of one of the local thrift stores and found some lovely things, but this fabric really stood out. It's about a yard, give or take. I think it might be a taffeta with velvet glitter something or other. LOL! I want to do a turkish vest or corset top with a matching belt depending on if I have enough fabric. If I don't then I'll cover a bra and make a matching belt. I also just want to make it into the biggest couch pillow to snuggle up with. LOL! Decisions, decisions.

If you look, there are about 5 new pics of stuff that I've saved from the thrift store. I really love the thrift store I go to. I usually find something that is in need of rescue and repurpose. I also found a good bit of muslin, which I needed for making patterns and other stuff from.

Tue, November 10, 2009 - 8:58 AMDepending on what kind of bellydance you do, I think it would be perfect for a short bustle, mixed with some other black sparklies! -

Re: WWYD with this fabric?
Tue, November 10, 2009 - 9:30 AMthat IS very pretty! i found some similar at a yard sale a while back, but some of it was a goldish with the black, and some was brown with the black. and it was already cut into long strips. i think i will use it to trim the bottom of a gypsy skirt.
your blue would be very pretty in a bra and belt. it would make an awesome corset too. even just a panel skirt would be very nice, but a yard may not be enough, i guess. yeah, i think i would do what i usually do when i find fabric i love...it would fall to my indescisiveness, and go into the fabric stash! :o
i do love thrift shops too! i find lots of great things there, and i get cheap fabric for trying out patterns before cutting into really pretty fabric! (i actually DID do the big couch pillow thing with some fabric i found that i loved at a thrift shop...i did not want to cut it up, and now everyone likes to snuggle into the big pillow to watch tv!)
