This event is pure tribal fusion at its finest between dancer and drummer. The night will start out with over 50 drums, provided by Steve Turner and Giving Tree Music, who will teach and lead us in a traditional healing song and rhythm in drum circle style. Unlike a hafla, there will be no set stage all performances will go on in the center of our healing circle, surrounded by drummers and audience members alike.

If you are a belly dance troupe/soloist or any kind of other performer who would like performance time, please contact Chandra: BelediBay@yahoo.com
We are expecting a lot of performers, so please limit your performance to 5 minutes, or 7 minutes if you are using living music for your performance. (Note: There is no green room for belly dancers, so come already made up! No make up or costume changes will be allowed in the bathrooms per the venue.)

The planned performance part of the night will end with the Sun Drummers led by King James: www.sundrummers.com/. An open drum circle hosted by Steve Turner of Giving Tree Music: www.givingtreemusic.com/ . and Shannon of drum circles .net: www.drumcircles.net/ will fill the rest of the night, and the floor will be open to anyone who wishes to dance.
Bring your smiles, your good vibes, your drums (or any other hand percussion or organic wind instrument.) Leave your stick drums at home, unless you have a bass drum. ( Non bass Stick drums will be permitted for scheduled acts only.)
This event is free, but we ask you to please make a donation of what ever you can at the door. There will be many items up for raffle, and tickets will be available inside throughout the evening. Word has it there may even be a few custom drums and higher ticket items that will be up for silent auction! You must be present to win.
If you have an item you would like to donate to the raffle contact Riz at firebyriz@aol.com or 727-581-6249. www.firewhip.com/ No matter what your item is, it all helps!
Bottled water, juices, and soda will be for sale inside with all proceeds going to Johanna. Please respect our venue who has graciously donated this space by not bringing alcohol or other substances onto the premises. Thank you in advance for this consideration.

We may change the title to "The Extraordinary Fila Goes to Greece" to appeal to a more family friendly audience. The show was for general audiences, but we chose the original title to give us an edge at the Fringe. It is the story of Persephone with a huge fusion of Tribal bellydance, flamenco, african rhythms & dance, story-telling, Bolivian, Irish, & snake charming dances, and so much more!

Quotes from Diane Hubbard-Burns, Orlando Sentinel:
"The fabulous Fila folks -– the Orlando-based Shredd Ensemble -- are back
costumes that artfully use more sequins, shells, bells, feathers, fringes and fabulous masks than anything this side of a Monte Carlo masquerade. Extraordinary indeed!
a cross-cultural block party-cum-performance art. "

We counted over 160 drums in the circle around midnight on Saturday night. We expect another great crowd of drum circle family. So far I haven't heard from any vendors of Belly dancing items. Greywolf had a great selection last time he attended. I was wondering if they planned to attend this time. Ka-Tet performed last April and there was good amount of dancers taking their workshop. Seems a lot of dancers are becoming attracted to the Paralounge Drum Gathering and would be interested in dancing equipment. Another person I talked to did not confirm, but showed a great interest in selling fire poi and other fire dancer items. Hope you can make it to this event.
