I know there is a pony munch in SF, is there a puppy play munch or play group here and are there any queer centric or queer aware ones?

The ponymunch is actually for all animals, though it evolved out of a focus for puppy play. I don't know of any queer focused ones and haven't been around the stampede munch lately to get a feel for it's demographics.

ok i've heard of pupply play but can someone tell me where to learn about it? can someone educate a newbie? it sounds delightful! i love puppies, love to play.

the wet spots, the kinky comedy/music duo from Canada, sang a hilarious song about puppy play at their show at mighty in sf last night.

Our 8th Annual Dog-n-Pony Show weekend is coming up next month. It includes having "critters" at the open play parties on Friday and Saturday night, classes on animal role play during the day on Saturday, and an animal outing in the park on Sunday. That event was sort of the central point for creating this tribe, in fact. More information coming soon!

When I wanted a Pony Munch in SF it was recommended I start one, which I did. 5 plus years later it is still happening and I am really glad i did it. I've made some great life long friends.

If you start your own Munch I highly recommend Sparky's, they've been really good to the Stampede and are very Freak and Queer friendly.

And it is true the Stampede welcomes all animals. We just had two new puppies show up this late month. Most of us are Pony oriented, but we have puppies, kitties, zebra, fox and a whole lot more I can't think of right now. it comes in handy when we have the fox hunt.

I think you may easily fill a niche in the local Kink Community with a Puppy Munch. It could be very rewarding, like it has been for me with the Stampede Munch.

    Good Luck.

I know an active gay male puppy group in SF area. Fun guys. They are open to hearing from men (only), of any orientation, who have an interest in being a pup or handler in their environment. If you're interested, send me a private message that I can forward to their alpha service pup.

Unfortunately this leaves woman out of the loop. It would also be nice to have a group in the south bay for those who cannot travel to SF on a regular basis or SF is too far.

For years, Stampede ran a monthly animal role play munch in Los Altos / Palo Alto area. Eventually attendance dwindled and people moved on. It would not be hard to revive that munch, or to start another.

It's easy to create a group around your interest and geography. Read:
        edukink.org/starting_community.html

We see our annual Dog and Pony weekend as a way to gather the various herds, packs, flocks, and bevies, not replace them.
It would also be a good kickoff platform to start/revive a group.

well I had a damn good time this weekend and I am happy to host a puppy munch although I think a play group would be even better (alas I have no yard). it would most likely be in the city (as I live there and don't drive), some where easy to get to from the east bay and south bay and would be open to all gender and orientations so long as people aren't transphobic or homophobic.

I'd be willing to host a puppy brunch, munch or small gathering at my new place in San Bruno in a month or two when we're settled. It's not a big apt. or anything and we'd have to play indoors but I'm game. It would have to be queer/trans friendly though. Although, I do live in a quadplex building and my new neighbors don't know about my lifestyle yet. I don't move in until tomorrow. But at the very least I'll offer this.

Let's plan a trial puppy munch/billiard outing on either Tuesday Sept. 11th or Sept. 18th at Steelhead Brewery on California St. in Burlingame. It's right across the street from the Cal-Train Station. If that's not convenient for enough people I'll recommend someplace else. I'll bring some dog toys to put on the table in their back billiard room.

Please promote this as much as possible once we pick a date. I'll invite the gay boy puppies too...

So. Did anyone start a puppy group, tribe, and/or munch? If not, I'd be happy to run with the ball if there are enough interested parties.

And no, that pun wasn't really intentional because I like to be the one throwing the ball for puppies. ....or teaching obedience, or playing tug of war, or stupid pet tricks.... :)
