Pony (and critter, trainer, curious person, etc) munch! (Seattle, WA)

Hi everyone,

I'd like to get together with you and have dinner and chat about fun pony stuff and what we could do in the year to come for folks in the Seattle area. Come join us, if not for the company, for the ENORMOUS slices that Talarico's dishes up :).

On Thursday, November 12th, 2009 at 5:30pm , I'll be having dinner at:

Talarico's Pizzeria & Lounge
Neighborhood: West Seattle
4718 California Ave SW
(between Alaska St & Edmunds St)
Seattle, WA 98116
(206) 937-3463
talaricoswest.com

Why so early? Well, Talarico's has happy hour from 4-6pm daily and that means half off on food and drinks. Don't worry though, we'll stay until 7, longer if the conversation is good. Come in and look for us, we'll be the table with the pony plush(es) on it.

STAMPEDE ROUNDUP: A Human Pony event in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA Sunday, August 16th at Noon

Lovely Human Pony Afficionados,

Come on down to the Stampede Roundup in Golden Gate Park for Human Ponies and their friends!
This is your chance to watch and play in a group that is relaxed, hottie, helpful and ready to gallop...

This is a participatory event -- so plan to be involved in some way,
even if it's just setting up jumps or bringing lunch food! We are
bringing carts and reins and barriers and gear and we will get showy!! Cart-pulling, barrier-leaping,
ground-driving, wild running, lazy grooming, nibbling, etc.
Plumes, flowers, tophats, bells, pretty quirts and so
on are much appreciated, as are sumptuous picnic lunch items &
blankets -- indeed. If you have extra reins, bits, etc.
please bring for the new ones we hope to entrap...oops, I mean invite.
If you are new to this and curious about being a Pony, Groom or Mistress
come on down, you don't need to have a partner. There will be some basic rules that we will send in a follow-up.

Golden Gate Park cannot be beat for beautiful pony 'carriage' rides --
gorgeous
trees in bloom, ponds, fresh grass, flat, winding paths, even a raised
platform area that
goes clop-clop when you walk on it. There are plenty of bathrooms and
even a large enclosed area for changing and a shaded area for cooling
off. It is also a public space, so we are clothed and try not to scare
the parents. We've done this several times and we've had a really
positive response ("Look - look! A Pony!") as a result.

SO -- WHO'S IN???

STAMPEDE ROUNDUP: A Human Pony event in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA
Sunday, August 16th at Noon
Shared Picnic Luncheon, Running, Driving, Grooming, Lollygagging & Leaping
Location Details will be sent to those planning to attend.
RSVP to stampederoundup@gmail.com with:
-Name(s) and emails and if you are coming solo or with a partner.
-What role(s) you will likely take on (Pony, Mistress, etc)
-If you are new or experienced in this type of play
-What snacks/drinks you will bring

Looking forward to seeing you there!!
PonyMistress Juliana & Tipsy Pony

PS -- Please do not re-post this.
PPS -- You know this is an adults-only human role play event and that these aren't biological
ponies, right? If you don't, then never mind, you didn't see this and
you don't want to come.

Forwarded:
- -
When: Saturday Jan. 31st
Time: 9pm til 12midnight
Where: The Power House bar

Cost: $5 door cover (The funds will be divided three ways. 1/3 going to the Power House, 1/3 going to PAWS and the final, 1/3 going help pay for SF K9 Unit’s Woof Camp event at IML and future SF K9 Unit events)

The door cover is the only part of the fundraising that will happen that night. I do plan on having a “Howling At the Moon” contest for anyone who wishes to participate. There will a prize for the best howl. J A number of you have offered to help out or participate. Below is the list of pups and Handlers that have volunteered to help out. If anyone else would like to be apart of this event, in anyway, please let me know. The more the better.

Set up: Set up will begin @ 8pm. We will need as many of you to help set up as possible. We will have two cages to assemble and a few banners to hang. It would also be great to have the pups arrive early so that you are able to get into headspace and into position for the evening.

11/08 Ponies at SF Golden Gate Park - Saturday 2-5pm

Below is forwarded with permission from
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ponyplayersunited

For you regulars, this is our usual pony rendez vous point.

- -

Howdy,

There's a handful of people planning on attending on the 8th, most of
them new to the sf pony scene. So, it's a good time to meet new
people. We're planning on meeting at the tables between 3rd and 5th St
off Fulton in the GGP. Once you get to the area you'll see pathways at
3rd and 5th off Fulton and it's an easy walk - uphill - to the table
area. It's approximately in alignment with 4th St.

There are pathways, tables, grass and a bathroom nearby. Bring
whatever you need to be comfortable in the park. It's probably too
cold to warn about covering up pink bits, buuuut you never know. It is
a public area. Let's keep in mind that we're representing pony play to
the general public. If you need further information or have questions
feel free to contact me directly.

Hopefully the weather will hold for a last frolic in the park.

Ponymistress Rebecca

Celebrate the end of summer with the Seattle Menagerie!

I'd love to extend a warm and personal invitation to all of you to make our fifth, and last regular outdoor event of the season a fun end of summer.

Join us this Sunday September 21st at noon for an afternoon of frolicking and fun at the grounds of the Longhouse in Redmond with our new(ish!) name The Seattle Menagerie.

Weather forecast is for highs in the mid to upper 60s, so bring something a little warm. As always for outdoor events, we suggest sunscreen and water to stay hydrated. There's lots of shade on the lower parts of the property, so pups and ponies may want to set up in those areas in case it does warm up. Camp chairs and ground covering blankets are also nice to have along.

If you want to swim, bring a towel. Toward evening there can be some mosquitoes on the property as the sun begins to get low, so consider bug spray.

Sunday's Schedule:
September 21st, 2008

- 11:50am - I'll be arriving along with Ponymistress D and Snakeman, we will set up check-in. The day fee for today will be $10.
- 12:00pm - We are officially open to play (Ponymistress D will have her surrey and tack with her)
- 12:00pm-6:00pm - We have full access to the play facilities of the Longhouse. This includes the outdoor areas, the play areas, the shower
areas, the hot tub, and the pool. From 4-5:30pm the CSPC does a BBQ up by the pool.
- 6pm - Pack out and heading home. Let's leave the property as clean as it was when we arrived :).

Everyone is welcome to come and play, observe, and enjoy, though if we do not know you, we ask that you bring identification that lets us know you are age-appropriate for the event. Photography is permitted during this event, so if you do not wish to be photographed, please let it be known when you sign in.

Those who have not been to the Longhouse facilities, it is located in Redmond, 15 miles east of Seattle. There is an Albertson's nearby if you require drinks, water, ice, carrots, apples, sunscreen, or anything else you may have forgotten.

The closest tack store along the route from Seattle is Olsen Mills, at 2501 140th Ave NE, Bellevue. The people there are friendly but they are not kinky, so please be respectful of their customers.

If you need directions, please let me know.

Sweet, rather shy panda looking for somebody to hold my leash.

Hi everybody. I'm not really sure if I'm allowed to use this forum for personals, but if I'm not, I apologize in advance.

My name is Dani. I'm 18 years old, and quite new to BDSM and pet play. I love roleplaying as a panda, and I own a hooded sweatshirt with black sleeves and cute little panda ears on the hood. I have never been a pet before, and I am hoping to meet somebody somewhat close to my age who will give me the attention, affection, and discipline that I crave.

Kink aside, I'd like to think I am both sweet and intelligent. However, I've got to warn you that I'm quite shy, even online. In person, I can be standoffish to the extreme, although I have been told that this is rather endearing, in that "dear caught in the headlights" kind of way. It should go without saying that any potential owner will need to go slowly and exercise patience when interacting with me, at first.

4/17-20 human pets: The Ninth Annual Dog and Pony weekend, San Francisco

A few people said they didn't see anything about the Animal Role Play weekend on tribe.
It may be that they're on the "Topics" tab. If you click on "Listings" or "All posts", you'll see the details of each event.
The Saturday classes, munch, and party are always the most popular.
The Ninth Annual Dog and Pony weekend
(a non-commercial erotic role play event)
April 17-20, 2008 in San Francisco
http://DogNPony.org

A weekend of human pets, including three parties, a day of classes, two dinners, and a park outing.

A gorgeous show pony, a well-trained police dog, a pile of romping kittens, a latex stallion pulling his mistress’s cart, a zebra grazing at FSF, a leather wolf, cat woman, bunnies, lemurs, manatees, mermaids, and meerkats – animal role play creates magic for the participants and observers. We attract all kinds of animals - domesticated, grazing, fierce, and fanciful.

Puppy play, pony play, kitten play, and other animal role-play, is deeply rewarding in many ways. It allows you to be both submissive and powerful at the same time. You become primal, noble, and beautiful. Experienced players become pre-verbal and enjoy a different reality. It’s a profound way to leave behind human cares. For handlers, trainers, and owners, it’s a delight to work with such wonderful creatures.

This event grows every year. We had about two hundred attendees last year, among the five events. It may be the largest and longest-running event of it's kind in the world.

Thu 4/17 Thursday dinner and warm-up Party dinner 7:30-9 pm, play party 9 pm till late
Fri 4/18 Friday Fetish Critters Party 7:30-10:30 pm
Sat 4/19 Animal role play classes and workshops 1-6 pm (doors noon)
Sat 4/19 Dog N Pony Party, with Pets on Parade 8 pm - 1 am
Sun 4/20 “Pets in the Park” - Animal Picnic and Romp 1-4 pm

For the latest information, join one or both of:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Dog-n-Pony
http://tribes.tribe.net/Dog-n-Pony

All events open to anyone 18 and over. All genders and orientations. RSVP not required. No photography or recording devices.

To be clear: 1) The staff are all volunteers. This is a labor of love, not a business. 2) This is a participatory experience, rather than a staged theatrical performance. Everyone involved is an amateur, though many are quite dedicated and skilled. 3) This is about humans role playing with other humans, there are no non-human animals involved.

Stampede website update

Hey there, pups and ponies, owner and trainers!

I'm updating the Stampede website and the one area that is stale beyond compare is the resources and links area. I weeded out tons of groups that were deleted, abandoned or which are just full of spam. Most of the links on the site were from 2000-2001, so as you can imagine, that area has been pretty decimated.

What are the sites, groups and resources that are hot to trot NOW? This is your chance to get some more promo for your groups or kink related businesses, so if you think the animal-role-play community would find it useful, let me know the URL.

Thanks,
Rae

I've not heard anything about this event at all. I am still interested in attending to present info about furry and anthropomorphic play. I've done so in the past few years. I know it is on the SF Citadel calendar, but I have yet to receive any e-mails about the program from any of the organizers. Ian, Angela? Are you still interested in me presenting any material?

i just want to start out by saying I'm so new this that i don't have the slightest idea what I'm doing. i saw something that sparked my interest and would like to give it a try. i know i want to be submissive because i have a been in control of everything in my life and would like to release control but i don't have a master. what i really need is a master with some experience that will show me how it's to be done. i wouldn't say this is totally a personal add but more like a help me post. pointers from experienced masters are welcome as well. oh I almost forgot, i know i don't have a picture up on here yet because i just started the account today but a brief description of me is I'm 5'9" 170 brown hair brown eyes covered in tattoos and in great shape. I will post pictures very soon and they won't disappoint anyone.

Hello,

After being absent from many parts of the alternative lifestyle set to attempt dealing with extenuating circumstances, I have decided to let go of those in my life that held me back from evolving into myself.

I have previous experience being a trainer and a pony. I am still interested and desire to explore further. Short term my goal is to connect with like-minded people and cultivate friendships, longterm my goal is to recreate my collection of equipment for play and training. Possibly in the future I may decide to don pony boots and join the herd again.

wondering can folks suggest a personal site where I might be able to connect with
a sweet sub (someone who actually does want to be a beloved pet)
who is either into puppy play
(have so longed for a loving human who connects with their dog spirit
and would enjoy bringing me a ball, wagging tail and looking up with sparkling eyes, ready to be petted)
or ponyplay (something that interests me very much)
adore everything about pony play

8th Annual Dog-n-Pony weekend -- how wonderful!

Now that the dust of all those paws and hooves has settled a bit (and I've made it through final exams this week -- woohoo!!), I have some personal reflections and some gratitude to express.

Wow, what a weekend! We were thrilled with the wonderful mix of people from throughout the greater BDSM community who came together to create the magic we experienced with all the packs and herds and flocks and gaggles and .... well, whatever collective names for animals that apply ... who gathered just a week ago to celebrate the 8th Annual Dog-n-Pony Show weekend. It still amazes me when I see the energy people bring to this play. We had an amazing collection of ponies and pups and kittens, as usual, but we also had a mermaid, and bunnies, and sheep, and tigers, and wolves, and foxes, and .... well, quite a menagerie, to say the least.

We are very grateful to our Dog-n-Pony presenters:
"Dog": Trainer Jim, Spike (and even Duke added some comments)
"Pony": Ponymistress Rebecca, Pixie Pony and Pony Windy
And, of course, Smash Greywolf, from the viewpoint of the Fox in the Fox Hunt.

We'd also like to thank Empress Rhea and Svad for bringing the fine pony cart and harness to SFCitadel on Saturday. We only wish we'd had more time in the schedule to allow everyone time to really appreciate it.

We had excellent participation in the workshops and breakout sessions, and are looking forward to building on this year's ideas to make the workshop tracks even better next year. We're already discussing ideas for additional new workshops, with possibly multi-tracking the classes, or running a full day schedule.

Thanks to all of those who showed up to our "Pets in the Park" outing on Sunday. After all our concerns about the weather, we had about as perfect a day for the picnic as you could ask for. Thanks to all of you who brought the pony (and dog?) carts. Lots of pulling fun was had by all.

We'd also like to thank SFCitadel and all the volunteers who helped us create and hold the magical space for everyone to play in -- as well as those in the community who came to both parties and played, and shared space, with the critters.

I also want to thank those in the animal role play community who keep the energy going all year round. Thanks go to Davor and the regulars at the Pony Munch at Sparky's in the Castro -- the second Wednesday of every month. I wish Wednesday nights weren't so difficult for us, so we could join you more often. And let's not forget all the events held during the "outdoor play" season at The Ranch - Ponymistress Rebecca's Pony Play Days and Fox Hunts. This is exactly the kind of synthesis within the community that we've hoped to spark at the workshops -- and it's fantastic to see the way you've taken things from theory into reality at these events. I know we probably speak for the rest of the community when we say how grateful we are for the energy of those who are willing to take this play to that level.

So, for those of you who attended, once again, thanks so much for your energy and enthusiasm. You helped make it the wonderful weekend it was! And for those of you who couldn't make it this year, we hope to see you at the 9th Annual Dog-n-Pony Show weekend next spring!

thank you both for planning such a wonderful weekend. The classes on saturday were great as was watching the fox hunt and the play at the parties (what I can remember from pup space) was fantastic. For my first time in pup space in public and at a public party I was amazed at how friendly and nice everyone was and at the high level of interaction between all players. It felt more like one big scene than many small ones and it was for me a much more friendly environment than at more traditional D/s or BDSM play parties, of course I was also obsessed with a light-up ball for a good hour and a half so my perception could be off ; )

Anyways thank for all the hard work and effort that goes into putting on this weekend and I look forward to the next one.

The 8th Annual Dog-n-Pony Show weekend of animal role play events is upon us!

Here is a summary of the events, with more details to follow over the next several days:

Friday, April 20th

SFCitadel open play party, featuring animal role players
8:00 PM - 1:00 AM
Cost: $20

There will be special play areas designed for animal role play.

Saturday, April 21st

SFCitadel Dog-n-Pony workshops
Doors open at 12noon
Munch & meet-n-greet period 12noon - 1pm

Bring a brown bag lunch and spend some time getting to know the other animal role players here for the weekend!

Workshops 1:00 - 6:00 PM
Cost: $20

Our workshop presenters include Ponymistress Rebecca, Pup Trainer Jim, Pixie Pony, and Smash Greywolf, as well as your weekend organizers, Iain and Angela.

Our topics are varied, including: a general introduction to animal role play (for the curious or beginners); tips for animals and their trainers from experienced players; break-out sessions with guided exercises on working with animal headspace (for both animals and handlers); and break-out sessions with guided training sessions for ponies and pups. We also will have an opportunity to learn more about the local Fox Hunt adventures, recently featured on SexTV.

Dog-n-Pony dinner munch
6:30 - 8:00 PM
After the workshops, a group will walk to a nearby restaurant to eat dinner together.
In order to have seating for a group arranged, we will probably ask people to sign up by mid-afternoon on Saturday, so we can call and notify the restaurant. The restaurant has agreed to do individual tabs.

SFCitadel open play party, featuring animal role play
8:00 PM - 1:00 AM
Cost: $20

There will again be special designed play areas for animals, plus special events related to animal role play during the party.

Sunday, April 22nd
Dog-n-Pony "Pets in the Park" picnic outing
Golden Gate Park
~ 1:00 - 4:00 PM

The main picnic and activities are happening between 1:00 - 4:00 PM, though some folks may begin arriving around noon-ish, and some people may decide to stay later. But, if you're planning on just doing a 'drop-in', most of the activity will be 1:00 - 4:00.

Reminders from previous listings:

The Friday and Saturday events are eligible for combined pricing!
You can get one party and the workshops for a combined price of $30.00.
You can get the entire weekend for a combined price of $40.00.

Volunteer shifts availability:
SFCitadel provides work exchange for entry to these events.
A single one-hour shift will get you free entry into one event.
Two one-hour shifts will get you into both parties and the workshops for free.
At this point, there is a greater need for volunteers at Friday night's party -- and two one-hour shifts Friday night will earn you free entry for the remainder of the weekend!

We'll continue to provide more information in listings and postings here, as well as on the Dog-n-Pony website, found at: dognpony.org/

Hope to see you there!

So, it just occurred to me...

My band is shooting a music video at the PE this weekend. One of the verses to the song we're doing includes lyrics about PonyPlay. If there are any ponies who would like to participate, please let me know. It would be cool to do a PonyPlay segment for it!

The shoot is from noon til 2 at the Power Exchange in SF... feel free to PM me or check out my Event listing on this tribe for details!

Thanks,

Hi pups and persons! This is a short little personal as I don't like to crowd things up. I'm a SF local person, well known in the community as an educator and owned by a wonderful woman. I've been broaching out into the other side of the power dynamic as it were, and would love to explore playing with a human puppy girl.

So, I know many people play very differently, and I play differently depending on the person. I won't put a big laundry list of things here, as I'd rather find out about each other through actual conversation! If your interest is at all piqued, drop me a line. Perhaps we can go to a stampede munch, hit a pony/puppy play party or just settle in to watch a great puppy documentary. If sparks fly, then I have tons of experience working with and training canine pups, and I bet we could have a grand ol' time. (And I have lots of treats and toys).

Warmly,
Mercedes

Geery Theatre, 22nd and L Street

You are seeing more and more folks acting like puppies and dogs with
trainers/owners in leather bars and playspaces. Some call this
role-playing; others describe it as releasing an inner playful aspect,
while others view it as a form of dominance and submission. Learn why this
is becoming an increasingly popular form of play. Why do folks do it? What
is it? How do you do it?

Rhea

Camp Arachnid Fund Raiser, at Edges in San Jose
Saturday, July 22nd

Camp Arachnid is offering a day of classes and play party at Edges as their 2006 Burning Man fund raiser. Below are further class and party details. Up to date information is also available at http://www.camparachnid.com.

2:00 - FREE introduction to rope class, by Arachnid's Chain Lynx and Empress Rhea
Refined through teaching to well over a thousand Burners over the last four years, an excellent hands-on workshop featuring rope bondage you will remember and use!

Afternoon sessions (3PM-6PM) - $25/person at the door
Evening play party (8PM-1AM) - $15/person at the door
Full day - $35/person (If paid in advance, the camp will provide you with a brisket and pulled pork dinner at 6PM at no additional cost. Payments accepted via Paypal at @edges.biz.)

Rope classes at all levels continue through the afternoon, with alternate non-rope sessions in parallel. Pick your poison!

3:00 - Training to orgasm on command, by Lord Dmitri
Have you ever seen someone orgasm without any stimulation? Do you think it is possible? You bet it is! Though not everyone can be brought to orgasm this easily, the technique is simple and here for you to learn. Volunteers appreciate -- must be able to masturbate to orgasm in front of the class. Further info at http://www.camparachnid.com.

3:00 - Intermediate rope bondage, by Tomfoolery
his workshop will cover intermediate bondage techniques. If you are past the basics and want to expand your knowledge and get new ideas for scenes, this class will be very helpful. We will cover several useful knots for adding decorative and functional elements to bondage rigs. Each knot will be used in a rig in the workshop. There will be a focus on predicament bondage. A key element of this will be how to attach rope to nearby objects and to various body parts. Attendees are assumed to be familiar with rope bondage safety and should be comfortable tying basic knots such as a square knot or overhand knot.

4:30 - Interrogation scenes, by Omega
Military veteran Omega (military intelligence) will present a discussion and demonstration of heavy interrogation scene play. This workshop is intense, and may not be suitable for novices or the faint of heart.

4:30 - The art of shibari, by Arachnid's David El
A demonstration of the elegance and utility of Japanese style rope bondage, including full and partial suspension.

6:00 - Dinner provided for those who paid for the full day in advance.

Evening events
8:00 - Dungeon opens for play party.

9:30 - Fire dance performance

11:00- Creative bondage fashion show. Create an outfit for yourself or your partner incorporating rope, chain, tape, or other restraint materials. Then strut if you can, wriggle if you must!

I'm new to knowing about the Human Puppy scene, and just wanting to know some more information about it. I'm not sure how deeply involved I'd like to get into Puppy Training, but I'd like to know about the rules and all. Also, is it acceptable just to have an own style to being a Puppy?

Interesting trailer.
Judging by the cast interviews, this may be one of the films that gets it more right (Secretary) more than wrong (Exit to Eden).
Not clear how much of the non-consensual cloak and dagger story line they chose to add.

Puppy Moshing at IML 2006

IML (International Mr. Leather) is the puppy mecca when it comes to pup moshing! Kennel Club 06 was scheduled to take place on Saturday night of the IML weekend between 10:00 pm to 12:00 am.

After changing clothes and gathering up my pup gear, i stretched my muscles a bit and allowed my frame of mind to begin some of the mental transition toward canine energy.

Othello was kind enough to agree to handle me for another IML puppy mosh, which i truly appreciated. As the time neared, we made our way down to the mosh pit. With water in the bowl, knee pads and foot coverings in place, paws once again engulfing my hands, Othello clicked on the pup collar around my neck. The click of the pup collar is a powerful sound: one that signals to my inner pup that it is time to come out of the internal kennel and play. The energy and perception of surroundings shifted as i shifted. Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. The pug pup peeks out from within and begins to sniff about to see if it really is safe to make the emotional shift into full pup space.

A pug found herself moving toward the moshing area on all fours, maneuvering through a number of legs and boots to finally scamper about with other pups. It was a blur of sniffing, snortling, barking, scampering, tumbling, howling, nose nudging and getting petted by various humans. There were a number of toys to steal and tug on between the pups. The moshing was truly a blur and was great, high pup energy. From time to time a pug would nose her way through the sea of legs to get to her water bowl.

At one point there was a rubber pup hoarding several of the toys and, when a pug approached, he began to growl aggressively. Being playful and clueless, a pug went for one of the toys and aptly got firmly backpawed across the right side of her muzzle. Soon a pug’s attention was caught up elsewhere as another toy went rolling by. The moshing continued as a pug scampered around in circles, tumbling over and scrambling under other pups, and reveling in the puppy pandemonium.

The IML pup moshing can be quite physical: it can be tough for pups that might be a bit tentative or not so aggressive. A pug just doesn’t know better and is often found paw-deep in the mêlée oblivious to any dog fights and happily romping through the bedlam.

There came a point when a pug suddenly felt a quick sharp blow to the head. Next thing a pug recalls is her handler coaxing her out of the mosh pit and soon finding her gear being removed, signaling it was time to shift back toward human mode. For a few moments i felt a lot of sadness well up within me: the pup didn’t want to go back into her internal kennel. Once the paws were off, Othello began to rub my hands to reinforce the feel of fingers and began to ground me as well, shifting me further back into my human perceptions and responses. Breathe deep. Breathe deep again. The sadness dissipated and i felt a sense of calm and appreciation for the pup time i was gifted with.

Someone came over to check on me and ask if i was all right. i’m pretty sure i responded that i was fine. Apparently i’d had a head-on collision with a fellow pup that sent us both reeling and caused concern among some of the human observers, including Dan and Otehllo. Dan was kind enough to watch over me as Othello gathered up the pug’s toys and gear.

When i first come out of pup space, i feel tremendous vulnerability and it’s difficult to speak and form thoughts into fully coherent sentences. When i am first brought back into my human frame of mind, i just want to get back to my room as quickly as possible so that i don’t have to interact with others right away. i need a cushion of time to quietly process and fully shift back into human mode. Still, it had been great to see all the pups, including some that were not able to pup out at the time, such as Brue and Nipper.

The moshing was definitely a four paws up!

Respectfully,
~ slave pug *snortle

I read through a similar post on another list, and it sparked this question in my head. How did you come out as a pony/puppy? How do you go about trying something like that? My Daddy and I have talked extensively about it, but I think both of us are a little timid for it right now. It is pretty deep stuff.

So, how did you do it? Did you just go to an event and put on the bit or leash and go? Did you jump in with both feet, or one toe at a time? Or hooves/paws for that matter?

4/21-4/23 human pets: The Seventh Annual Dog and Pony Show

The Seventh Annual Dog and Pony Show
(a non-commercial erotic role play event)
April 21-23, 2006 in San Francisco

A weekend of human pets, including two open parties, a day of classes, vendors, and a park outing.

A gorgeous show pony, a well-trained police dog, a pile of romping kittens, a latex stallion pulling his mistress’s cart, a zebra grazing at FSF, a leather wolf – animal role play creates magic for the participants and observers.

Puppy play, pony play, and other animal role-play, is deeply rewarding in many ways.

Schedule for the four events:

Open party 1
Friday, April 21, 8pm – 1 am
SF Citadel
$20

A day of classes, demos, and discussion
Saturday, April 22
SF Citadel
Doors: noon
Programs, 1-6pm, or whenever the last dog is well hung
$20 (three classes for the price of one)

Open party 2
Saturday, April 22, 8pm – 1 am
SF Citadel
$20

Pets in the Park
Sunday, April 23, mid-day
join mailing list for time and location
Free for participants

Discount combinations:
Classes and Friday party $30
Classes and Saturday party $30
Whole weekend (all four events) $40

Volunteer work-comp also available. Contact: Volunteer at SFCitadel dot Org.

Both parties provide stables, lunge, and grazing areas for ponies and large animals, plus cages, romp, and training areas for dogs and small animals. And plenty of laps and scritches for kitties. There are also social areas and large bdsm play spaces with dozens of stations.

The start of Saturday’s programs is aimed at beginning players, as well as admirers and the curious. The second and third programs are aimed at intermediate players, and those who attended the first program. The material is divided into three class sessions, approximately: 1-2:30, 2:45-4:15, and 4:30-6. Most people attend all three sessions, and they are only priced as a single package. We include presentations, optional hands-on sessions, and vendors.

Multiple presenters will cover:
- Overview of animal play
- Advice for new animals
- Advice for new handlers
- How to get into headspace (animal’s perspective)
- How to help animals into headspace, how to be a good handler
- Finding your totem animal
- The animal within
- Specific animals: Pony, Puppy, Dog, Kitten, Fox, Zebra, Butterfly, Dolphin, etc.
- Tack, toys, accessories, outfits, and garb
- Group discussion on trainer’s perspective
- Group discussion on animal’s perspective
- Veterinarian play
- Furry culture
- Negotiating an animal scene
- Places to live in role for days at a time
- Sources for animal play fantasy and photos
- and more

Those new to pet play will have a chance to try it (if they like), under the guidance of experienced players. This includes both new handlers and new animals. Experienced players will have an opportunity to discuss their experiences, and demo their style. It’s also a good chance to find new partners.

During the middle program we will show the documentary “Pup”. The director, Antonia Kao, will be there in person for discussion afterwards. This is the first documentary on puppy play. It covers Master Skip and Pup Tim as they prepare to compete in the International Puppy Contest, a leather title for human canines and their handlers. DVD copies will be available for sale. http://pupumentary.com

Saturday’s material overlaps roughly 50% with past years. We try to have new material, as well as new presenters for the basic material. It should be a good time for both newcomers and aficionados.

Vendors will display animal play, furry, and bdsm gear as well as documentaries.

The evening parties will include various animal play, furries, and open bdsm play on two floors.
some suggested Hotels near SF Citadel

For those coming from out of area, or who want to stay nearby after the party. We know some attendees are already registered at Rodeway Inn.

All the hotels below are reported to be Leather/Kink and LGBT friendly. Tell us if you encounter any problems, so we might warn others. Of course be respectful of the vanilla people sharing the facility.

SF Citadel is at 1277 Mission St, at Ninth St., San Francisco, CA 94103
http://sfcitadel.org

From nearest to furthest:

Rodeway Inn - Downtown San Francisco
101 Ninth St (at Mission)
415-621-3655 or 1-800-228-2000
http://rodewayinnsf.com
literally next door

Holiday Inn - San Francisco Civic Center (one of 5 H.I.s in SF)
50 Eighth St (between Market and Mission)
415-626-6103 or 1-888-HOLIDAY
http://ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/1/en/hd/sfocc
one block away

Ramada Plaza
1231 Market Street (between 8th and 9th)
415-626-8000 or 1-800-272-6232
http://ramadaplazasf.com
one block away

Renoir Hotel
45 McAllister Street (at Market and 7th)
415-626-5200 or 800-576-3388
http://renoirhotel.com
two blocks away

Beck’s Motor Lodge
2222 Market St (at 15th St, near Castro district)
415-621-8212 or 800-227-4360
further away, but a favorite of many gay men
1.3 miles away, on direct Muni line http://sfmuni.com

There are several other hotels within a few blocks’ walking distance, but we don’t have reports on their leather-friendliness. We welcome recommendations of other accommodations that are near us, and leather friendly.

When San Francisco is sold out, some people stay near the SF airport, and drive or BART in. SFO is 12 miles away by US-101, or 30 minutes by BART.

Public transit:
http://sfmuni.com within SF
http://bart.gov within SF, to SF airport and Bay Area south and east
http://samtrans.org to SF airport and Bay Area south

SFCitadel is two blocks from the Civic Center Bart station, and near many transit lines.

Cars:
Street parking is free on Sunday and evenings in this area.
Please read all street parking signs carefully, e.g. overnight street sweeping. Each block is different.
There have been a rash of car break-ins. Don’t leave anything visible or valuable in a vehicle. If in doubt, a safer place to park is the indoor lot at the Holiday Inn, one block away at 50 Eighth St (between Market and Mission).

I know Damian had package pricing for the weekend when Castlebar was hosting the D&P show back in the day. Are you guys doing that? Or how will the price breakdown go?

Just curious so I can plan my budget for that weekend. :)

Cheers,

The SF Citadel is membership program is on it’s way!

It's been a long time coming but, as some people have noticed, some party advertisements over the past few months have mentioned membership.

Now, we are proud to offer SF Citadel membership starting this Sunday, April 9. Beginning at Lady Thorne's SM Community Exchange (SM Flea), we will start selling memberships and issuing membership cards. Come, look for the SF Citadel table there, near the Fandango table where you can get more information or sign up and become a card carrying SF Citadel member.

The SM Community Exchange will be held Sunday, April 9th from 2 to 5 PM. 942 Mission St. in sunny San Francisco. Convenient parking at the 5th and Mission St. Garage.

Starting May 1, SF Citadel membership will be required to attend most SF Citadel parties and certain events, so you have most of April to get your memberships. But, don't worry SF Citadel membership will be starting out at a special introductory and very affordable rate of $5 per year.

Here are the basic details:

A Special introductory rate of only $5.00 per year.

Available starting April 9, Required, starting May 1:

Required for most SF Citadel parties and special events.

Required private rentals for parties and large groups.

Not required to attend classes, meetings, programs or discussion groups (Private rental parties may have their own requirements).

We'll be putting up more information on our website soon, but if you have any questions in the meanwhile, email "membership [at] sfcitadel [dot] org".

Thank you all for supporting us as we continue to grow and evolve, and we look forward to seeing you at Lady Thorn's and at Fandango on Sunday.
