too many things to do, too many decisions to make
a job you hate, no light at the end of the tunnel
the wave of energy comes, a mass of thoughts
once they brought you down in a hole of depression
not in control anymore, ride the wave, see where it goes

i am the only one that controls me
sometimes i decide to give up that control to another person or some thing
and then i (most always) quickly take it back

Re: things getting on top of you
Sun, January 13, 2008 - 6:10 PMoh, geez, i like to think i'm in control, but on close examination, i seem to be controlled by so many, many factors that assuming i have final say in anything - especially as regards my emotional reactions - is a pretty iffy proposition.
it's not that i think other people have control of me either. i think we're all too conditioned to claim absolute freedom of action.
my point was just engaging with wild life re-immerses me in the grander scale of things, which often has a side-effect of making my own problems seem less significant.

How do you know when you are in control and when you are not? -

Re: things getting on top of you
Wed, January 16, 2008 - 10:31 AMit just seems to be an interest and exploration. new things have opened up. before i was one dimensional, now i see an endless amount of things i can take an interest in, learn about, enjoy and make a difference possibly. i feel kind of limitless as to what i can do with my life. i have no fear of others, or authority. i am not self conscious as i once was. maybe this is just a natural part of growing up and seeing a wider world, and taking a part in it. i see that anything that happens is only because somebody has made it happen. i feel its important to do something about whatever takes your passion.
i have got bored of 'doing nothing' and now am learning new things every day, maybe basic things to some but just doing work on my property opens up all sorts of questions and decisions. in our daily lives there is so much going on, we ignore so much of it. i'm also starting to see the difference between science and art, i guess. a lot of material things are predictable, science can explain why, but with art for example writing a song, then anything is possible, there is no correct answer. -

Re: things getting on top of you
Sun, January 20, 2008 - 2:44 PMThings might be getting on top of what you are not for the purpose of bringing about a more absolute insight for you regarding the reality of things, seems painful at the time but in retrospect down the road it might be seem as a blessing, diamonds originate from coal.
