i'm cross-posting this from the "willful ignorance tribe" for those of you who aren't on both....

the description of a neurobiologist's massive stroke is utterly fascinating....as is her insistence that we can somehow "choose" to live right-brained.

yet another wrinkle in the "why we are the way we are" continuum......

      haha! well, that would be the utopian solution. ;-)

      while her description is fascinating, and i have no doubt our entire social structure would be impacted by a more right-brain dominant slant, i don't think it's as simple as "choosing" to be right-brained. i mean, she had a major STROKE, fer godsakes. and her message toward the end sounds rather messianic, doesn't it? ripe for oprah, for sure.....

      still the implications are intriguing. this morning, we were discussing all the varied ways people have for increasing right brain activity and/or attenuating the left: sex, drugs, art, ritual, etc.....seems to me this message is coming thru on a lot of channels already. and maybe it's happening as we speak.
