Well, I'll definitely vouch for Pablo Neruda being a good man. He was a great poet anyways, worked hard for the people, and tried desperately to shed a little light in people's lives.

As for Haille Sellassie, well, I won't touch that topic with a 10 foot pole, lol! A lot of random american and european pseudo-rastafarians seem to think he was the cat's pajamas......me, I tend to disagree with them, lol! :)

The Chinese dragon is a symbol for luck and wisdom. One of the most beautiful descriptions of these dragons known to me is found in The Neverending Story by Michael Ende: "On the other hand, luck dragons are creatures of air and warmth, creatures of boundless joy, and light as a summer cloud in spite of their immense size. That's why they don't need any wings to fly. They swim on the breezes of the sky like fish in water. Oriental Dragon Seen from the ground they look like slow-moving lightning flashes. The most wonderful thing about them is their song. Their voice sounds like the golden booming of a great bell, and when they speak softly, it is as though one were hearing this bell from far off. Whoever has been permitted to hear such a song never forgets it again his whole life long and even tells his grandchildren about it."

Naturally there are all possible kinds of Asian dragons, too, but Ende was describing just the sky dragon.

That's awesome Christian, thanks for posting that. I've always had a bit of an issue with the European view of dragons as enemies that need to be slain. Sounds like too much of a metaphor to me; modern society fearing and killing pagan/tribal society or patriarchal religions fearing and slaying matriarchal/earth based spiritualities.

I especially liked the post about Korean dragons too, and how they're thought to come from water. Being a watery person myself I always wondered about the connection between my dragon and my water (cancer - crab). Now I think I understand it a little better! :)
