Hidden Gems - Vignette de Jour

OK, so i don't know why i haven't done anything with this Tirbe earlier excep0t that i noticed that the setting was to not send any email. i have remedied that situation.

so this Tribe was a hidden gem for me. Prior hidden gems:

- Katy's coffee shop, just down the road from the new place
- a beautiful poster given to me in the last year, hidden in my closet and not revealed until i packed for the move
- finding that i was pierced somewhere and didn't know it, and it has been there for a very, very long time and happened before i would probably consciously remember it
- creme puffs that are served before the pho

What drama? The drama of To Kill a Mockingbird. Vignettes of calm still life, each hiding a story of infinite depth below the surface. Bhutoh in real life.

This is unusual, in the fact that this space has not been for posts of this type, but to consider Drama without including true, meaningful performance would be disjointed. This post is about an epic transformation. A person who has been a leader in one of Seattle's greatest still-accessable bands is changing his life, as his world changes around him. About the Evening:

Tost Lounge and Marmalade, Seattle’s legendary soul/funk collective, invite you to celebrate the birth of the JUA LEKUNDU Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children in East Afrika. Join us for a very special evening to raise money and awareness for this crucial cause. Marmalade’s revolutionary tribe of musical warriors promises you a night of dance, love and celebration that will free your mind and your booty! 100% of your $10 cover fee will benefit the foundation!

About the Vision:

JUA LEKUNDU, “Red Sunâ” in Ki Swahili, is a vision inspired by Glory Seka Mkini and Chad Redlight of Dawn’s recent trip to Tanzania. With their daughter Mhanila by their side, Glory and Chad spent last winter filming a documentary about the tragic effects of HIV in East Afrika. Glory, a Tanzanian living in Seattle, has lost many family members to the AIDS virus and feels her calling is to help the people of her homeland, especially the children. Chad, a Seattle musician and activist, was deeply moved by his experiences in Afrika and vowed to do whatever he could to help improve their community living.

About the Action:

Thus a foundation was born. Together, Glory and Chad have committed themselves to opening a community center in Arusha, Tanzania that will consist of an HIV orphanage, a medical clinic and a school. They also plan on constructing a solar center designed to bring more reliable energy sources to the East Afrikan region. This magnanimous couple is currently in the process of adopting Glory’s niece Eve, a four year old Tanzanian princess in great need of assistance. She lives her life on the streets often going days without food and medical attention. Adopting Eve is the first step of many the JUA LEKUNDU Foundation will take in order to help save children in East Africa. With your help, this benefit will raise money for the adoption of Eve and the fees necessary to bring a non-profit organization into the world.

Chad, Glory, Mhanila and Eve would like to thank Tost Lounge, Marmalade and You for being a part of this spectacular evening.

The seeds of drama........

Before we began I would like to say hello to the rest of you "little shits" who arrived in the middle of our introductory discussion.

I would like remind everyone to click on the "more" icon under the header to read the class syllabus.

And remember....we are here to analyze drama.....and laugh at the pain of others.....KIDING! kidding kidding

So, the seeds of drama;

lust
gluttony
greed
sloth
wrath
envy
pride

also we discussed "afflictions ( this really intrigues me)

assignment;
take the ever true dramatic by-line boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy finds girl and apply a dramatic situation using some of these emotions

example;

Boy meets girl, girl meets boy and meets his girlfriend, girl thinks boy's girl is hot (lust), girl meets boy's girlfriend at chillaxity, girl makesout with boy's girlfriend(greed), girlfriend likes girls kisses and finds herself masturbating in the bathroom at work about what it would be like to see girl again(gluttony), girlfriend tells boy(pride), boy says cool but wants to go to next chillaxity to watch(sloth), they go, meet girl, boy gets jealous cause girl kisses girlfriend better(envy), girl and girlfriend disapear from party for about an hour (lust, gluttony, sloth), boyfriend freaks calls girl a "slut' (wrath). Boy drives home alone (pride), girl and girlfriend wake up in each other arms on a strange floor with messed up hair, missing clothes and a "new" boy named Raoul.
