I was in a hallway surrounded by familiar rooms on either side, vague in detail. Rich in meaning......that escapes me

This house seemed 1-story

Confusion

I felt compelled to approach the front door

A wolf awaits me outside. snarling and angry, it stands frozen just outide the front door with part of the door transparent where I can see through to its glowing eyes and its fangs. It waits for me,but it is frozen in place.

Its threat is soon realized to be less severe than originally suspected. Fear is no longer there. Only curiosity

It is wanting to show me something, but what?

I lock in on its stare, but neither of us move

and I wake

Ahhh don't you hate that you wake up just when it was going to get good? Great dream by

the way! I love wolves. In my native american background wolf/wolves are great teachers

and guardians. It seems like you're being prepared to have some great wisdom bestowed

upon you. That's what I'm getting. Do you remember the color of the wolf? Are you at all

seeking knowledge in your waking life?

      Hello Eros

I couldn't see the wolf's color precisely, It was dark outside the door and the wolf seemed to have a dark gray coloring in what seemed like pale moonlight. I was mostly focused on its eyes and its teeth and the fact that it seemed posed to attack, but was unwilling or unable to move. The eyes glowed a medium green.

I am always seeking knowledge. I am more interested in knowledge and growth than the materialistic purposes that many people pursue

Ok cool Zayne. I'm not sure about the meaning if a wolf is of gray coloring in a dream. I

figured if it was a white wolf you saw or something it would definitely mean guidance and

protection. A birth of some knowledge of sorts to come.

One can fear going outside ones safety zone because of what my lie outside there. But, often what you imagine might be scary or more than you can handle, will turn out to be not that bad at all. One can learn a lot if one is willing to look into things or explore beyond that which is comfortable. One may connect with someone that has something to show you or offer you provided you open up to the possibilitiy. One does have to show some caution, but often one can figure out using ones intuition what is a safe risk to take.

Meditation/pray, combined with mind-body or other exercise(not done excessively), a good diet, and adequate rest, can help one to have the spiritual strength to handle more in regards to what might be right outside your door so to speak.

      Thomas,

I've never been one to be limited by comfort zones. I've always seen through little blankets of security. All of that is always temporary and not absolute. I am familiar with everything you mentioned and very in touch with who and what I am as an individual.

This dream puzzles me because it seems to be of an outside source, instead of any reflection of any personal dilema that I have

We are all limited by our comfort zones to some degree. You reacted a certain way to a situation in a dream. That tells you something about the energy you were dealing with at the time of the dream. One can try to read too much into a dream. Dreams do involve outside sources and also how one is tending to respond to them. Dreams tend to tell one about the state of ones spirit is in regards to how one is interacting with other spiritual influences in ones world. Other people and ones environment all will have a spiritual influence on you. One will sense certain things on an intuitive level a lot of times before they become more obvious or evident in ones life.

One may be familiar with everything I mentioned, but one can always go further in improving oneself and ones spiritual training. I have developed my own very intense spiritual training technique and have been pushing the edge in the spiritual all of my life and I am still learning and improving on my training.

Have you ever heard of totems Zayne? I think this wolf is your totem ,and as someone said... Eros... your totem is trying to send you a message, you have something to learn.... Do you feel any sort of connection to wolves? Have you dreamt of wolves in a similar way before... so personally...

I also believe that this may be coming from an outside source... because you believe that and it's your dream... but also because you in a one-story house and the dreams presents that way...

"Fear is no longer there. Only curiosity"

First your confused, then the fear turns into curiosity... could be a clue as to what you may be learning....

"It is wanting to show me something, but what? "

Don't know... and I think your dream/ your wolf is telling you to prepare yourself... that is the overall feeling i get from this dream... prepare yourself .....

"I lock in on its stare, but neither of us move "

Intense...... what did you feel at this point? I wouldn't imagine it was curiosity...... be the wolf....

      Stacy

I have heard of totems but have not really explored their deeper meaning.

I have always felt a connection to animals in general, but wolves in particular. Inexplicably. This is the only dream of a wolf that I can remember.

"what did you feel at this point"

      utter infatuation

        "utter infatuation"

        :) i'm jealous........

The meaning of a totem varies from culture to culture... but basically it is an animal spirit guide/ guardian, etc. etc.... it would be an animal that you are" infatuated" with.... I was obsessed with wolves when i was a child... so I like your dream...

I don't want to speculate, because I don't want to draw false conclusions. I know this creature's purpose was valuable and I suspect it will reveal itself in time.

As confused and intrigued by it as I am ,I can take one thing for certain from it at this point. I need to stay true to my instincts and avoid getting to cought up in the material world, to stay pure of heart.

Why would you be jealous, is there a spirit guide competition going on that I"m not aware of? :-)

Is it possible to yell a wolf away?
    • Re: Wolf overcome

      Osteo

I would guess that a wolf would only be deterred by a yell, not fought off

wolves are relentless creatures by nature

lol, ummm.........no. ;) You dream is intense, and you remember it clearly... holding eye contact with a wolf - poetry... I wouldn't mind having a dream like that right about now.... not that i'd be able to do much with it... lol, but lets not go there.............

Maybe you shouldn't try so hard

I clear my mind and sort of attempt to let the recollection of my dreams to work themselves out, in a way. Calming music helps.

              Have to let go

I know, I know.... trust me i know... sometimes that works, sometimes i'm just clueless.....no, most of the time i'm just clueless :) Your absolutely right though, the microscope is to close for me to see the whole picture.. I try to write them down, then looking back later I can gain a little more perspective....

                " Calming music helps. "

What? So you mean I gotta put the Mudvayne down first thing in the AM?

                :)

I have not tried this...... i think i will.... thanks :)

a few possiblilities present themselves to me, first is the obvious boundaries, but as you claim not to have a problem with social boundaries that shouldnt be it, second it as was stated also is a totem, I have a wolf totem (among others :) but who knows on that point cause that would be for you to figure out on your own with a medicine man/woman now when you say you go from fear to curiosity I get the feeling that you are no longer simply in your body but also sharing a mind with brother wolf, have you had any experiences wiht wolves (this would be to obvious but as dogs are decended from wolves you should also consider dog's.) and to stacy if you have a problem interpreting your dreams or even to anybody in here feel free to get in touch with me on here, or on my facebook, www.facebook.com/bibbs I am a heyoka man and would be more than happy to help you with the interpretation I offer several options when helping to interpret dreams as dreams are verry personal and outsiders may not be able to interpret it efficiently in just one attempt.

I do have my "hangups" on some social boundaries, but they are not something I struggle with. I am against the grain on several things, but I am comfortable with that. For example, just last night my brother and an old friend were in town and wanted to run around and chase women at a few local bars and pool halls. I went with them but couldn't be more disinterested in chasing after a woman in a bar. Other than the music ,pool and a few drinks that enviornment is just not for me. I got a lot of flak from my company for not wanting to bang some random girl, and especially when I sent a couple of pretty attractive girls back to their friends with their heads down after coming over to hit on me. It bugs me that they see that as weird, but it is what it is. Anyway,my point is I can see the boundaries suggested by the house and the door in the dream but they are symbolic of something that is yet unbeknownst to me.

I am curious as to why this is the only dream I can recall so vividly of a wolf. If it were a totem, would it not "contact" me more often?

I think the most interesting part is that the door is transparent. This also shows up in how you talk about this dream. It is clear to you that there is some danger involved in your life, something that seems to be pursuing you. But you see it as a learning opportunity, because wolves symbolize teachers (and you know that). Because you can see the opportunity, and see it's dangers, it does not scare you. You are in control, it is waiting for you to open the door.

That's my interpretation anyway (I didn't read all of the successive posts).
