I dream of past memories of the neighborhood and house I grew up in. Dreaming of people I have known is also common but a lot of peeps are symbols of other things :)
I also have past memories of previous dreams in my dreams...that always seems kind of strange to me!

Many of my dreams are linked geographically.
They form a mutated version of the real world.

Dreams are only a small part of how we view, remember life, both past and present lives. Dreaming may also be a way of planning for our next incarnation.

        I ask because
I find myself in places that I've been
but the memory is never played out.
        It's always totally different.

I was curious if anyone actually just dreams of memories without any difference.

I think this is proof that the past is always changing, and the future is there you just have to reach for it.

it's interesting to be asked this, Ik - and I just don't recall any instance of doing this, without some kind of change to the details. The only time, I think, when I've dreamed accurately of the past is when I've dreamed accurately of someone *else's* past -- have had several dreams like that, of a scene from someone else's life that I knew nothing about before. And they were right, including times, places, names, and characters. But apparently my subconscious isn't that interested in my memories raw.

But I do, very often, think in a dream about other dreams I've had before -- or say to myself, "wait a minute, haven't I dreamed about this very same thing before?" which will lead to an "instant recall" in the dream not only of all those previous dreams but often of a whole history of the situation I'm looking at then -- and I honesly don't know if I'm really recalling these dreams and this history or if I'm making the entire thing up on the spot. If the latter, I'm really good -- it happens at incredible, seamless speed.
