Eagle

I should have noted down the dream but didn't so now the details are gone.

Anyway, I had a dream in which I was journeying on an open road and an eagle swooped down and seemed to attack me. Later in the dream, the eagle seemed to be warning me of potential danger and it led to seeing a man who was doing some sort of black magic (malay bomoh) on me.

The dream threw me off since it attacked me first then warned me.

IT scared you to get your attention.
Eagles are messengers and guardians in Native American Tradition.
Consider it lucky and blessed to be protected by Eagle in your dreams.

yes, eagles seem uniformly good omens - the eagle might have strafed you, or hit you in the head - but that would be to get your attention and to shock you -- open up your consciousness for instruction. Hopefully you will have eagle in the dreams regularly and you can establish a relationship with it as both a totem and as a dream symbol. To me the part that bears investigating is the man doing black magic on you - I take it from the words you used to describe the type that it is some local type of magic?? Do you recognize this man? Did this trouble you? Do you recall any incident where you might have caused offense and prompted this reaction? Did you have a feeling about what to do in response? Did you take it seriously at all? It brings up so many questions - answering them and looking at it in that level of detail and taking action based on your conclusions will reveal the message of this dream! Thanks for posting it.

some years back, i dreamt of standing on a great plain with an elk and it spoke to me saying that he is my totem. That was the only time i dreamt of it. Mostly the animals who visit my dreams are cats (big and small), spiders and snakes.

The black magic performed on me is a type of black magic that's very popular around south east asia. The image of the man that came up was that of a current fugitive in my tiny island but that's not the real man. In the dream, he simply stared at me from a portrait, grinned and his eyes grew red.

It was the power i felt from him that scared me and the physical attack by the eagle. I didn't provoke anyone. I'm a little troubled because now I feel like I'm being watched. In the dream it was clear that I piqued his unhealthy interest towards me. Really wished I had written down the dream straightaway to save the details. The eagle has a white head.

Thank you both for helping me get a clearer picture...

it still affects me cos the picture of the fugitive is pasted all over the island so im constantly reminded.

I think you're smart not to ignore the heads up you've been given - and deliberately doing clearing and protection for yourself never ever hurts!! It is true -- and odd -- that sometimes we catch the attention of someone and it is true that some of these people, due to their nature, cannot help but attack anyone they notice. A reflexive kind of thing. Can happen for the slightest of reasons. And when someone is under psychic attack, there are clues and hints and dream messages about it. But once you've had the warning, you can protect yourself. Especially when there's no real connection between you and the perp. Clearing, shielding, and there are also techniques to become invisible, unlocatable, to the attacking energy. Which works far better than trying to combat them in any way; engaging with them or even spending more than the minimal amount of time required thinking about them or trying to figure them out is a bad idea, I think, and it is cautioned against.

Once in Mexico some women in a village got all riled up at me because I looked at a baby too admiringly and they didn't like my light eyes either. They all started calling me "bruja" -- embarrassing. The best course was to just take off and not try to deal with it in any way or explain. I've often wondered how I'd fare living in another culture -- there are so many ways you can commit a faux pas in a strange culture!

            Thanks Lily,

I have a tendency to attract unwanted attention of this sort very often. Especially when I was younger and going through rough times. But now, I feel alot strong (mentally, emotionally and physically) though I still have my moments, so these unwelcomed intruders stay away. There're always 'spirit' - for a lack of a better word. i'd say presences or energies - hanging around in my room all them time, like a meeting place for them so often they come into my dreams. But you know when it's not someone from the local town council.

'I've often wondered how I'd fare living in another culture -- there are so many ways you can commit a faux pas in a strange culture!"
I wouldn't say strange. Just different. And yes, while you never know what you do might offend, it's usually just the worst case scenario we always think about :) Maybe when we actually live there, it's not so bad..
