So, I have violent, threatening dreams from time to time, but I have never in my life had one where someone I know actually was murdered...
Night before last, I dreamed that I was being chased by a tall man, who was trying to kill me. I finally ended up near a swimming pool at night, with a grassy slope-area. I was standing on the grass, and this man was about to stab me with a meat hook. My ex-boyfriend jumped out and the man slashed his chest with the meat hook, and he fell to the ground, dead. I took out this long, flat, round-edged knife, and stabbed the tall man through the heart in slow motion.... then took off running, to home (wherever that was)...
So, my initial reaction was hey, that was strange, and scary, then I started to get the feeling I really needed to call my ex to make sure he was okay...
What do you think? I could be "subconciously putting my ex away" to move on...?

Tue, July 15, 2008 - 7:14 PMI dunno. My first reaction is to suggest you're correct, that you might be simply killing off an old part of yourself, whatever part the ex represents. Then maybe you're trying to kill off the executioner, or that shadow-side of you which helps you cull off the part you don't need anymore. Except you can't really escape the shadow. As you grow and change, the shadow grows and changes with you.
I would suggest waiting a while before you call the ex. Sit on the thing. See how you feel after a few days.
