Unfortunately it's been over a week since I had this dream, so it's become less intense, but at this time it is by far the most vivid dream I've ever had.
I had gone with a friend to visit some underground hot springs. The kind of set-up where you have to pay for your tub. So we go into the "office" which is built into a hill, kind of like a hobbit house. The care taker informs us that the cave that the springs are in have been taken over by a monster. He goes on to tell us that it has killed all of the previous vacationers and advises us against going in, and that he is leaving the area immediately to go into hiding. So, I get the impression that this monster is not happy just having control over the cave and the springs, it's going to eventually come out and go on with it's killing spree. Now my friend is no longer with me, I'm alone in the forest next to the cave. I'm scared shitless. I consider going into hiding, thinking I could just continue living that way and stay alive, that would be easy enough. I'm about to settle on this idea when I really realize that there's no way to hide. Eventually it will find me and everyone else. So I decide that I have to go into the cave and deal with the monster before it comes out and destroys humankind. I woke up at that point... probably because I made the important decision that had to be made.
Of course, figuring out what that decision relates to in real life is the question. I think it has to do with my feelings on the way our government is working, and how I'm going to deal with it from now on.

Re: Hot tubs and monsters
Tue, July 8, 2008 - 6:33 AMWow. Interesting. Before you guessed it might be the government, I thought maybe the dream was about responsibility. Maybe collective responsibility, or maybe your own responsibility in dealing with the monster. So your feeling about the government would make sense. Certainly the government could be perceived as the thing which threatens to ruin everyone's hideaway and possibly even kill us. This is the first time I've heard of a dream which illustrates the feeling of powerlessness many of us feel when it comes to such things.
