Sat, March 15, 2008 - 6:44 AMSince I used to actually work in the Horticulture Industry my BS degree was very useful. I don't think that having it can hurt in anyway, and yes the process like most things in life is the better part.
It's funny, now that I'm in a different position in life I'm finding that I'm remembering that Hort stuff from years ago and will probably get back into it to some degree. I can see myself as a "Master Gardener" down the road as I convert my landscape knowledge into something more practical by growing fruits and vegetables.
I wish I had the time and money to persue a Masters degree in Horticulture, I love being in school and learning. I think solving problems and finding ways of accomplishing goals is what keeps me going.
I was just curious as to how Webba planned to use her degree, as far as maybe teaching, or as a just something she felt she needed to accomplish in her life. -

Sun, March 16, 2008 - 7:42 PMPart of it is, as Cupcake said, the process is fun. I loved being in college. I loved stretching my mind, reaching out to new ideas and making connections. The BA I got basically qualifies me to a/go to grad school or b/ask if you'd like fries with that. I studied what I did because I love the subject. Getting my BA was a huge goal for me and I met it despite a lot of crap in my life. Another part of why is exactly that...it's a goal, it's the next step. Im not sure where I'll be afterwards. I'll probably pursue teaching and I've always wanted to write. Ultimately it's the only way I can stay in college for the rest of my life. -

heyyy, i havent changed fields again ... im working on the exact same stuff i was at bc ... im just doing it alone now without the support of the porfessors there who got me. that's why i am desperate to go back and at least spend another 6 months or so under the mentorship of professors i actually respect and who respect me ...
sorry, another shitty long day at the office ...
doesnt it suck how one bad apple can just ruin the whole teaching experience ...? -
