Sadly, I will not be able to attend the last Drum & Dance Saturday, at the end of this week. There are simply too many events competing for too few dates in December.
But I wanted to pay my respects, and share some snippety bits of memory....
I've been going to D&D for a long time -- I don't honestly remember when my first was -- since sometime in the early 90s or late 80s.
I met a great many people here. Got to know others better here. Brought more than a few to their own first times, both drumming and dancing in circle....
It is with profound gratitude that I say farewell to this regular event. Happiness that it has been, and sadness that it will not be for some while ... and hope that it may return in years yet to come.
And so to you, "us," who bring Drum & Dance to the rest of us, thanks for all the fish. See you round the fire.
