Wow, you are about $100 less than the guy who posted the israeli site.

      lol

Now if we could only make sure we are getting the A grade drums when we order instead of the outsourced B or C grade ones that were mentioned a while back....

I think the first person who garantees this will do a lot of business - no pink filler, no parts "touched up" with marker pen, the installed head isn't broken, ....etc.

Having said that, the only 'perfect' GEF of the three I own did come from egyptcart. I'd just like to see a statement on the website that they only ship the top-quality drums.

What have other people's experiences been with these shops? Maybe a thread rating the quality of the drums from various sources would be useful.

The two I have from Sphinx shot are really good. Their imperfections are nothing compared to my more expensive drums.

Ultimately, buying any drum that you have not inspected by hand, played in the shop, and been happy with there is a risky proposition.

You can minimize that by dealing with a reputable company, making sure that they have a return policy, being willing to pay the shipping costs back to them, and being diligent in communicating with the vendor, but again, you are far better served by only buying what you have played.

Personally, I have had virtually no dealings with buying online, but I am fortunate enough to be involved in the SCA community and belly dance community here in southern California, so I come into a fair bit of contact with shop owners and merchants that have the merchandise on hand.
