DEMOCRATIC STRUCTURALISM

moderated - created 09/14/08
Things are going wrong and we the people have to set them right.

Currently our nation is structured to secure power for the corporate elite that run this country, but Democratic Structuralism holds that citizens are the owners of the society and that they have the right to shape the society so that it is truly. . .

Of the People, By the People, and For the People. .

We in America have very nearly abdicated those rights by leaving governance to the elite. . .and we can see that things are going very wrong. It is the tenet of the GPU that it is impossible to restructure the society by working only with the two corporate parties, who are more or less owned by the corporate system we live in.

Those who champion Democratic Structuralism may choose to vote for democratic or green party candidates, but should recognize that our political system will be warped until we are able to structure the society for democracy. That means our choice of candidates and the realization of political goals may be exceedingly difficult, because our political process is set up to work for an elite, not the people.

What we must work for is Democratization and after the tools of power are in the hands of the people, a program of change can be instituted. A program of change that holds the public good above any private gain.
