Hey, hoping someone can help me with possible solutions for this.
One of my turntables is creating slight distortion in the highs/mids of records and slightly less bass than the other turntable. I have tried different needles and different records, all producing the same result. I've tried cleaning the contact points between the tonearm and cartridge, to no avail.
I'm trying to record mixes and this is driving me nuts. The resulting recordings have every other record sounding distorted, as if the highs/mids are clipping, but I'm not redlining the signal.
Any help?

Re: slight crackling from one of my M3Ds
Thu, December 21, 2006 - 2:21 PMYou probably have bad cables or a bad contact or wire somewhere between the cartridge and the cables. Depending on what the exact problem is, you could need new cables or possibly a new tonearm.
