It represents a time when energy needs to be put to practical work in the realm of material concerns. The RWS image very nicely expresses the gardening concept - what to prune, what to water, what to mulch, i.e. what to get rid of and what to nurture in a situation. -

Dear Petra,
Be very careful in situations involving roommates and/or relationships. My sources suggest that the key concept underlying the 7 of Pentacles is "counterfeit coin." In human relationships, it means someone may be deceiving you and luring you into a situation that may bring you loss and/or sorrow. Please think very carefully before entering relationships in which the 7 of Pentacles appears. There is a suggestion of insincerity and double-dealing. Someone may be lying to you or trying to influence you to do something you will regret.
All the sevens represent situations that are weak and unbalanced, since they are not found on the Middle Pillar and are placed very low on the Tree of Life. They are meant as warnings that you must be very cautious.

Sun, April 6, 2008 - 10:22 AMThe 7 of Pents came up when a crazy roommate was being evicted. Serious reevaluation was definately in order as I diden't know whether I should hold my ground, or be forced to move. The situation has recently resolved itself, thank goodness. -

Mon, April 7, 2008 - 9:59 AMpetra google the seven of pentacles, there is a lot of disagreement as to the nature of the seven, some are very negative others are more of a positive nature, my interp of the seven of pentacles talks about preparing to get the fruits of your labours. i would say the negative statement for this card is dont count your chickens before they hatch, thats all, dont mena throw in the towel or anything, just remember what you have invested. -

Mon, April 7, 2008 - 11:32 AMOR - you could try listening to what the card says and honouring your impressions. The Tarot is really good at talking if you can still yourself and listen.
One of my favourite techniques for dealing with a "problem" card is to put it in front of me and write whatever comes into my head - no editing, no censoring, just free association until I can't go on. Then I set the paper aside for a few hours, days, &c before sifting through what I've come up with. There are always pearls of insight amidst the scribbles -

Thu, April 17, 2008 - 4:32 AMForgive me if I am completely off-base but that is exactly the rough coordinates from where this reply generates. My only interaction, in this dimension, with the divinity of echoes of so many voices of so many lives in limbo screaming out directions from the vivid discoloration of the disguised black holes as a deck of cards electrified my entire existence out of this world to a seemingly foreign but instinctively familiar darkness of most comforting guiding lights. A truly random friend of sorts asked me to uncover my life by pulling a card out of a deck of unstacked tarot cards.
The knight of swords jumped out, took my hand and showed me where all my native souls came from. Ever since that instant in time, we have been on an endless journey through all infinite beginnings.
I guess what I am trying to convey in this hesitant mumbling way is that travel far away with what and which tarot directs you away from this morbid foretold way of life's restrain instead of one that reflects the circular refinement of the same encouragement for running another lap towards the intangential end of perfection.
