i'm struggling right now with my scorpio moon, i actually just found a tribe that deals directly with that, but i'm a bit anxious for feed back. i'm not sure if doing a reading on myself is a good idea, i've always just read for other people. i read from the goddess deck. i understand it's not the conventional, but it's a deck that drew me to it years ago and the results have been surprisingly accurate overall. i'm wondering if doing a self reading might bring me something i dread or fear as far as my future. is it a good idea to read for yourself? or is maybe a fear i need to face. i shut my ability to read into my own life years ago because of a lot of past pain. perhaps the only way to unlock or answer questions might be to do a self reading. thanks

  • Hi I've been here for a while too but never really posted either. And I'm happy you found a tribe directly dealing with your scorpio moon.... as I can imagine you're probaly very intense, and intuitive with the emotional depth and mystery to make a maze look like a str8 line but enuff uv dat...lol... I find that most readers have a harder time reading for themselves because of the ?inability? to take an objective look at the energies surrounding when it involves the self. The doctor may have a harder time diagnosing himself but can treat another with great success... but the key is to be honest with yourself and accept what cards lay before you. The power and advantage of knowing is that you can create the solution and the change you want... you can most definately read for your self but keep it real with yourself what is revealed to you... does'nt matter the deck its what your spirit gravitates to when selecting your cards. Hope this makes sense.

As a Cancer ascendant, I am very lunar and I do sometimes have trouble reading for myself, especially when it involves something I have a lot of emotional involvement in (fear, pain, love, etc.). Everyone is different, though. What I do w/ questions like that is do my own readings, then consult other readers to get their opinion.
      • As a native Crab, I find it just about impossible to read Tarot for myself, too much subjectivity involved. I get much better results with I Ching when I want to look at an issue for myself. The cultural differences between classic Chinese vs. modern American seem to provide a bit of personal distance that helps me keep it more objective.

        • hmm.. there seems to be a connection to water signs. we got cancer crab and scorpio on my part. the moon. my moon is my dominant sign. i'm not much gemini at all. however, i thought water signs were the most intuitive? my main thing about giving myself a reading is the fear of opening something i might not want to know or be too afraid to know. i used to naturally read my own future constantly, predicted the highest of highs and lowest of lows, and when they are bad, they are wretched and it was like knowing it didn't make it possible to stop it. i just had to watch these events unfold, because it was already written to happen. have you experienced that?? i guess that's why i've turned off a lot of this.

We are generally the most intuitive (unless afflicted somehow in our charts) but not always for ourselves. In my case, my moods fluxuate greatly. There are some days when I am just far too emotional to read for myself, and other days where I am very centered. The Moon is the fastest moving body, so it's no wonder.

I honestly think that we are the best person to read for ourselves because we know the situation better than anyone, and may not read more positively or negatively than what the cards are saying. I've had a lot of readers say things much more positively than what I was getting from my readings (or even their readings), and it got my hopes up on a few things that I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up for.

I think that you probably should not read for yourself if you feel fear. You will likely get a lot of fearful cards that are not accurate. There is nothing to fear about your gift, though.

I've never felt completely powerless to stop anything. A lot of the crap that happens in our lives can be changed if we listen to our readings.
            • Indeed Teresa ... indeed ;-)
              • Oh yeah and you are more prepared for when the results of your reading does manifest... You save yourself a heart attack...lol
                • i see. you were able to take those warnings and change them. my readings i did on myself weren't with cards, just my mind. thats why i shut it all down. scorpio moon is the most difficult placement of any other moon. controlling the impulses is extremely difficult, but of course, anything is possible. so far, i've had rotten luck not falling victim to all of the bad energy associated with it.
                  • This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
i believe pisces moon to be the most beautiful placement of moons. that ones a blessing full of sensitivity, empathy, intuition and general overall kind souls

I think Neptune plays a pretty big role in intution, not just the Moon. And the aspects to the Moon and Neptune, as well as house placements, can be even more important than the sign that they are in. Pluto can also be important, and very powerful, as far as psychic skills go, but sometimes destructive and difficult to control.

No, the Moon is peregrine (no dignity) in Pisces, and they are hypersensitive and have trouble controlling their own personal energy and releasing negative energy that they pick up throughout the day.

The best placement for the Moon is either Cancer (its dignity), or Taurus (its exaltation). The worst are Capricorn (its detriment) and Scorpio (its fall). Planets in fall act on a more physical plane of existence. Scorpio Moons experience emotions w/ great intensity, but their greatest challenge is expressing themselves, and they can become physically ill when they block something out.

But, again, aspects are important, and house placements. Another thing that some people have is mutual reception between planets that can help a debilitated planet or two out. For example, if you have Moon in Scorpio and Mars in Taurus, the two planets are debilitated on their own, but are in a sign that is good for each other so that they share each other's energy (mutual reception).

It also depends on if your chart is dirunal or nocturnal. The Moon tends to do better in nocturnal charts (when the Sun is below the 7th and 12th houses).

My chart is ruled by the Moon, but my Moon is in Sag in the 5th house, with dignity by face only, so it's more difficult for me to experience compassion. But I have a Moon-Neptune conjunction and a Moon-Pluto sextile. Neptune is also trine Venus and Mars...

Anyway, it's just not all about the signs.

My Moon-Saturn square is the most challenging aspect in my entire chart. It makes me doubt my abilities constantly.
                        • i gotcha. everyone i've dated by fate has a moon in pisces, so it might just be an attraction that brings those particular moons together. i typed in the compatibility of the two and apparently they match perfectly in lunar. yes, neptune is the dream planet. water, intuition and it rules pisces as well as saturn i believe. actually, the recently passed Michael Jackson has his moon in pisces. i typed in celebrities with that particular moon placement. elvis is there too. the irony is. michaels best friend elizabeth taylor is a scorpio moon. another factor of those two moons attracting each other. the universe is an amazing place :)

Jupiter is Pisces' planet, and modern astrology assigns Neptune as a secondary one. Saturn is Capricorn and Aquarius' planet (w/ Uranus as a secondary planet for Aquarius).

The water signs are in general compatible with each other in any planet because they usually form a trine (triplicity) to one another (within 10 degree orb or so). Any planet that is in the same element is said to be compatible by most astrologers because of the trine. A trine is a favorable aspect. For example, Sun signs in earth are always compatible w/ another earth because of a trine and with a water because they form a sextile. An earth with an air or fire will form either a minor aspect or an unfavorable one.

Planets of the same quadraplicity (fixed, mutable, cardinal) make stressful aspects (squares or oppositions), but they can have powerful attractions.

There is also duality (masculine or feminine). Maculine planets tend to get along w/ masculine planets, feminine w/ feminine.

Synastry and composite charts are really the way to go in comparing compatibilities between two people's charts.
                            • you don't have to compare and contrast, but here's the degree and placements in my chart.

Rising Sign is in 06 Degrees Libra,
Sun is in 03 Degrees Gemini.
Moon is in 09 Degrees Scorpio.
Mercury is in 16 Degrees Taurus.
Venus is in 16 Degrees Cancer.
Mars is in 05 Degrees Gemini.
Jupiter is in 06 Degrees Sagittarius.
Saturn is in 28 Degrees Libra.
Uranus is in 07 Degrees Sagittarius.
Neptune is in 28 Degrees Sagittarius.
Pluto is in 27 Degrees Libra
                              N. Node is in 25 Degrees Gemini.

love and respect. thanks for the advice
  • You probably will not like what I have to say. So, to let you know that I come in good faith, I will do a reading for you as well.

I agree with you. I think that the Scorpio Moon is the heaviest of all. And tribe has so many people with Scorpio Moons that you can throw a rock anywhere here and hit at least six of them at once. The worst thing you can do is what you are saying you have been doing. You need to keep the questions flowing and the self-suspicion keen. The Scorpio Moon is ever about playing hide (with little of the seek) with itself, in my experience. Ultrasensitive to self; not necessarily to others. It tends toward dwelling in the unconscious whenever possible ~ like its haven ~ but that presumed haven is really a pit of disaster if indulged.

My reading for you is that this is a powerful and progressive time where combining common sense and action will land you in a position of some authority and control. The way looks easy, but for your self-doubt about it. If you can consider this a time of new beginnings and fresh starts, you are likely to overcome that block and take off to the next level. This will require strength and courage, which you have, so just set your mind on achieving the success and it will manifest.
  • Hello-
I jsut joined buthave been reading for 36 years-I own 200 plus decks and many are "unconventional" I read intuitively and have found that, for me, unconventional decks help me to relax and open the third eye very wide. The most challenging thing about reading for oneself is that is is often challenging to stay neutral-often things that are not pleasant it is easy to void the truth and whitewash what is there.

I find reading aloud in the third person helps me to stay in the astral plane and keeps me disconnected emotionally from the reading.

    Hope this helps
