  neato... i have a finished drawing in my sketchbook involving those children's letter blocks and the very same concept.

  and the blocks are laid out as three overlapping circles of 6 with 3 floating blocks at the pivot point of each. Guess i like graph theory even more than i thought. I'll scan it soon as i'm near a flatbed.
